Community News The City of Casey has applied for almost $10m in funding through the 2017/19 Growing Suburbs Fund (GSF) to help Council fast-track the delivery of a range of much-needed community and sporting projects.
Help drive Casey youth towards 120 hours The City of Casey is calling for volunteers to help young people learn how to drive through Council’s L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program. The program assists young people who are without support to gain their required 120 hours of driving experience.
Council has applied for grants through the Victorian Government fund towards the following eight projects:
Join a dedicated team of mentors who have so far assisted more than 120 learners achieve their licence through this program.

This is a great way to support young people through a fantastic road safety initiative that will help make Casey’s roads a safer place for all.
Hunt Club Family and Community Centre Redevelopment, Cranbourne East Project cost: $2.01m, GSF request: $1.005m, Council contribution: $1.005m

2017 Lindsay King Arts Award winner announced
Frog Hollow Reserve Regional Rugby Union Pavilion Development, Endeavour Hills Project cost: $3.36m, GSF request: $1.68m, Council contribution: $1.58m
Dena Al-jamar was announced as the winner of the 2017 Lindsay King Arts Award, while Tahlia Williams, the youngest ever nominee for the award, was recognised with a special commendation.

Mrs Al-jamar was nominated three times for her work with the Al-Emaan Women’s Organisation, and through her artistic practice, has brought together women from different ethnic backgrounds and was recently responsible for the design of the Al-Emaan plaque for the Wall of Global Friendship The City of Casey congratulates Mrs Al-jamar on her award.

Council is looking for residents to be part of its Community Selection Panels to assess award nominations and grant applications, including the Casey Australia Day Awards and Casey Volunteer Awards.
