Twenty years of experienced care WESTERNPORT Child Care Centre and Kindergarten is celebrating 20 years of service in our community. Established in 1996 by Geardo and Josephine Giacco, the first centre opened in Hastings and was closely followed by the Lang Lang centre celebrating 20 years next year. The Kooweerup and Cranbourne centres followed. “Over the years, the early childhood sector has changed in many ways,” Director Joe Giacco said.
“However one thing remains unchanged, and that is that we put the children first in every way possible. “The centres create a wonderful team envioronment that fosters a sense of belonging for the children and their families. “Children and families form wonderful relationships with each other and with their very experianced educators – many who have been with Westernport Child Care Centre for many years. “You know you have been
in a sector for a long time when you start employing people who once attended the centres!” Joe said. Currently, Westernport Child Care Centre and Kindergarten have three staff members who attended the centres as children.
