Mayor visits Allora movie set Southern Downs Regional Council Mayor Cr Peter Blundell and Cr Glyn Rees visited a movie set in Allora this week to see ilming “in action”. Film Producer Liam Heyen said the Council had been very supportive of the Griith University Film School project. “Council have been great to work with – they closed part of the main street for us on Tuesday December 3 and for part of the day on Thursday December 5. They also assisted us with use of the local hall and other facilities. “We’re really grateful and will acknowledge the Council and Allora community in our ilm credits. We also hope to have a community screening early in the new year,” he said. The Allora scenes will be screened around the world with the crew’s previous ilm “Rain” screened at Cannes Film Festival and the Los Angeles ilm festival Hollyshorts. Mr Heyen said the ilm is called “OUROBOROS” and tells the story of Linden Connor, a man from the not too distant future whose wife is at death’s door following a long history of medical problems stemming from a hit and run accident in her youth. “Lost and distraught at his wife’s plight, Linden determines to locate a highly illegal time-travel device,

“If you know of anyone who you believe is worthy of recognition, please take the time to nominate them for an Australia Day Award,” Cr Blundell said. Nomination forms can be collected from Council Oices and Libraries, or downloaded from Council’s website (click on the Australia Day Awards Banner). Nominations close on Monday December 9 2013.

an OUROBOROS watch, to travel back in time to the year 2013 and save his wife. However, time travel is never that easy and soon Linden is caught in the sufocating web of time paradoxes. Can he break the cycle and save his wife?” Mr Heyen wants the local community to be involved and feel free to come and watch the ilming. Cr Blundell said Council was pleased to support the ilm and looked forward to seeing the inished product. “It’s certainly a fascinating story line and I’m sure the Allora community will take great interest in the day-to-day operations of the ilming,” he said.
