Gathering at God’s Invitation

Welcome AngelaZimmerman

CalltoWorship AngelaZimmerman

Sing to our God; praise our God!

Even when we become strangers to our own families.

Sing to our God; praise our God!

Even when we are the subject of gossip.

Sing to our God; praise our God!

For God is our strong defender.

Sing to our God; praise our God!

For God will deliver us from the desert.

Sing to our God; praise our God!

For God’s steadfast love is good.

LightingoftheChristCandle WilliamSmith

We light the Christ candle as a reminder that Christ is the one who has drawn us to this place, abides with us now, and is with us to the end of the age.

PrayerofConfession Dwight

O God, you created us. You know us and understand us. We desire to be generous, but withhold from others and from you. We desire to be Christ-like in our actions, but we can forget and follow the values and examples of the world. We desire to be kind and loving, but can allow fatigue and stress to deter us from these good intentions. Forgive us, O Lord. Allow your grace to wash over us. Help us to forgive others and to forgive ourselves, and to begin anew, each day. Amen.

AssuranceofPardon Dwight

Hear these words of assurance from the Psalms. “You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you.” Through God’s mercy, we are forgiven. Amen

TheChurchatPrayer&TheLord’sPrayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Responding to God’s Word

DisciplineofSilence

AngelaZimmerman

To be in God’s presence is to be changed. During this moment of silent reflection, consider the change God wishes to make in you.

*Hymn#493 Have Thine Own Way, Lord ADELAIDE

If you sense God calling you today, we invite you to respond during this time of invitation. If God is calling you to follow Jesus for the first time, to rededicate yourself as a Christ-follower, or as a faithful Christian, to join the fellowship of our church, we encourage you to come forward to speak to our pastor during this closing hymn.
