Annesty works to write the wrong Amnesty International is a small club this year but has a very bigjob to do. During club time members write Urgent Actions letters to fight for the rights of people around the world who have been imprisoned due to their political beliefs . Amnesty International receives from a national list the names of people who are imprisoned and tortured. Amnesty Clubs all over America send thousands of letters to the countries accused of human rights abuses. This can cause exteme pressure for these countries and

people are being re leased! Mrs. Sue Keyser, AHS sponsor of Amnesty International, comments, "I hope that it will continue to be an important part of the school and that we can continue to educate teachers and students about the incarcerations that take place all over the world." Besides all of the great work Amnesty does for human rights, the club also took time out to win first prize for their Homecoming float. •Hillary Elston
