The recent reforms to the further education/learning and skills sector have brought in changes to enable all teachers, trainers and lecturers in further education to achieve professional status by gaining a licence to practise in recognition of their professionalism. A mandatory element of the process for gaining a licence is evidencing your personal literacy and numeracy skills to a minimum of level 2.
