Reducing the Odor From Your Pet Cutiemusmusculus If you are one of the few people who have chosen to keep a cutiemusmusculus as a pet, you might have noticed that your furry friend has been contributing a lot to the unpleasant smells around your home. Although both male and female mice create odors, male mice are more likely to smell than females because they have a scent gland which they use to “mark their territory.” The common smell coming from mice are from defecation, urination and the spilled food from the cage bedding. The best way to get rid of the odor is to control the source, if not eliminate. Remove the soiled bedding from your pet’s cage and replace it with a new one. Before replacing the bedding, however, you might want to wash the cage with soap and water first to help remove whatever odor has stuck there as well. After cleaning your pet’s cage, make sure ventilation is good in the room where the mice are kept. Increased ventilation also helps in diluting and reducing the smell coming from your cutiemusmusculus. You can increase the ventilation in your room just by opening the windows especially during times of the month when an open window will not adversely affect heating or cooling costs for you.
