We kick off 2016 in the Studio with our signature eclectic mix of music, cabaret, comedy and theatre. Matt Forde returns with his wildly popular Political Party, featuring interviews with John Bercow and Liz Kendall to name two. 2015 MOBO Award winners Binker and Moses perform as part of the Tina Edwards Presents series, and Katie Brennan explores the trials and tribulations of being twentysomething in her new cabaret. Ferris and Milnes start a series of brand new cabaret nights from January, and the acclaimed production of The World Goes Round celebrating the legendary music of Kander and Ebb comes to the Studio for six nights. Our new writing initiative RE:act responds to main house productions The Pianist of Willesden Lane and Miss Atomic Bomb, and we are delighted to announce original RE:act piece, Reel Life, now developed into a full length production which will be performed in February. A selection of our upcoming music nights include the risqué Dirty Little Secrets, our first ever Festival of World Music presenting leading bands from Jamaica, Portugal, Russia and Brazil and the inimitable Liane Carroll. There’s a rare opportunity to see the exuberant Zoe Rahman, experience latin vibes with Emily Saunders and celebrate the return of the Jazz Divas series featuring Joanne Eden, Clare Teal, Norma Winstone and Claire Martin. A two man Macbeth promises to be an inventive celebration of Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary, followed by Hanging Hooke, a tale of intrigue and betrayal, which explores the stories and scandal behind the 17th Century scientist Robert Hooke. We welcome back Stuart Matthew Price, Vin’s Night In, and West End Switched Off, and premiere Ben Rimalower’s off-Broadway hits Patti Issues and Bad With Money. We look forward to welcoming you to the Studio soon.

HANGING HOOKE Tues 1 – Thurs 3 March 8pm | £17.50 / £20 Christopher Wren loved him. Isaac Newton loathed him. Robert Hooke was a brilliant scientist, artist, architect and engineer: he poured out a stream of visionary concepts for the Royal Society and played a significant role in rebuilding London after the Great Fire. Yet after his death, England’s Leonardo was written out of history; even his portrait mysteriously disappeared. This tale of intrigue and betrayal, from Take the Space explores the captivating C17th world of new science and discovery.
