YEAR 10 CAREERS TEST A reminder to parents of Year 10 students about the online Morrisby Careers Test which we are offering again this year. Here is an excerpt from the letter which was sent home with the students last week: The test will be held at school on Thursday 22nd March, 2018 from 2.00pm until approximately 4.00pm. The cost for the test is $50 per student. If you are interested in having your child do this test, please complete the reply slip below and pay $50 by cash or cheque to the front office by 16th March, 2018. Sydney – Tuesday 24 July 4pm-7pm Find out more - http://www.anu.edu.au/study/events SYDNEY UNI ENGINEERING WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM The Year 10 Work Experience program at Sydney University in 2018 is hosted by the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. This program provides unique opportunities for high school Year 10 students to experience how fundamental concepts of physics, chemistry and mathematics are utilized to create innovative engineering solutions for some of the current technological problems. The interactive nature of the outreach programs gives students a chance to explore their passion towards a particular area while joining research groups and engaging with some excellent chemical engineering students/mentors. They can gain insights into various chemical industries and possible careers in chemical engineering whilst undertaking research in areas that concern industry partners. In 2018, the program is offered in two rounds: Term 2: 14 - 18 May; Term 3: 30 July 3 August. Students who are interested should see Ms Hakos as soon as possible. The application deadline is 9am Monday 19 March 2018. US COLLEGE SPORTS INFORMATION SESSION The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is holding an Information Session on U.S. College Sports. The session will cover information on core course requirements, amateurism and how to navigate the application process. CREATIVE CAREERS/COURSES AIT After School 2D Animation Workshops This after-school workshop gives students the opportunity to experience all of the steps involved in creating a polished full-colour 2D animation. In the final workshop, outlining and colouring will be the main focus and the final exported animation will be sent to each participant.
