Notices – 26th May 2013 ELECTORAL ROLL - Now that the new Electoral Roll has been published it is evident that there are a number of people who didn’t complete a new application form. The new Roll is displayed on the notice board by the door - you can check to see if you are included and, if not, complete a form. FUNERAL – Derek Austin – A service will be held at St George’s Church, following the cremation, on Wednesday 29th May at 12.30 pm. There will also be a memorial Choral Evensong at St. George’s on Sunday 30th June at 5.30 pm.’ RAG BAG COLLECTION – We have started another Rag bag collection to raise money for the Church Hall Roof Fund. If you have any unwanted clothes (even if torn) or other textiles (bed-linen, curtains etc.) please leave them in a black sack in the Narthex. Thanks. Tessa. FOLLOW-UP TO LENT COURSE - Are you interested in carrying on the conversation? Would you like to discuss other topics? Following on from the success of this year's Lent course, we are looking at a way of continuing the journey. His farewell Eucharist at All Saints, Northfleet will be on Sunday 18th August 10.00am. THE GOD PARTICLE at Christ Church Beckenham - We are delighted to let you know that we are hosting a performance of the play "The God Particle", a contemporary romantic comedy sci-fi from "nicely thank you" theatre company, at Christ Church Beckenham on Wednesday, 19th June, 8pm, It is an ideal event to which friends outside church can be invited. Tickets are priced at £8 in advance or £10 on the door, and can be purchased through our Church Office on 0208 6503847 or office@ccb.org.uk. Kelsey Park Centenary Celebrations Friday May 31st sees the centenary of the opening of the Park. At 2pm, the Mayor of Bromley will plant a centenary oak on the main lawn, raise a new flag and dedicate a clock on the New Information Centre. Saturday June 15th from 2 – 5 pm ‘Big Picnic’. Bring a picnic and enjoy listening to the BYMT ‘New Generation’ Big Band; the Bishop Justus jazz Band, our own Junior Choir and choirs from St Mark’s and Clare House Schools. There will be plenty of children’s entertainments. Everything will be free of charge. Wendy Hardy, Chair, Friends of Kelsey Park. Sponsored Walk - Judi completed the 8 mile walk for St Christopher’s Hospice on Sunday and will be most grateful to collect the promised sponsorship money. CHRISTIAN AID WEEK ran from 12th to 18th May 2013. Thank you to those who have already given a donation, either via a house-to-house collection or to me directly. PARISH ADMINISTRATOR, ST MARY’S, SHORTLANDS - A vacancy has occurred and the Vicar and the Parochial Church Council wish to appoint a Parish Administrator to manage and co-ordinate the administrative life of St. Mary’s Church. 25 hours per week, Salary £11,450.
