Can you see yourself designing, managing and coordinating a live event? Whether you want to specialise in music, theatre or corporate events, this exciting HNC will teach you everything you need to know about this vibrant and creative industry. We’ll provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in a thriving industry. The course will focus on the creative craft, technologies and professional practices of live events for a variety of productions. From event design and construction to the application of advanced digital event technologies, you’ll learn the skills you need to enter the events production industry.

What do I need to get on the course? We welcome applications from those who have one or more of the following:

What does the course involve? The course may include the following subjects: • creative arts professional practice • creative arts research skills • applied contemporary performance practice • lighting design for live performance • lighting operation for live performance • performing arts facilities management • performing arts rigging • production skills for performance.

Are there any exams? Assessment will be continuous through projects, ongoing production work, practical assessment and evaluation.

What next? On successful completion you may be able to progress to: • a top-up degree in a related subject at a range of universities • a career within the live events industry.
