Jumpstart
What the qualification offers Jumpstart is a programme to support young people in their final year/years of compulsory education. It aims to help young pupils who find the school environment difficult, by introducing more practical-based learning.

As well as helping improve your basic skills you will have the opportunity to experience vocational subjects such as beauty therapy, hairdressing, woodwork, plumbing, business studies and engineering.
Jumpstart can offer you: • team building activities/projects • citizenship activities • job search/interview techniques • community-based projects • talks and visits from/to local employers • access to wider key skills including improve own learning, working with others and problem solving • City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Award • short courses including first aid, and health and safety • Prince’s Trust XL club. Progression/next steps The programme will help you to work towards progression into: • further education courses • work-based learning, for example an Apprenticeship • employment or employment with training.
