letter from the editor in chief Audrey Janette Easley

Seattle Pacific University is known far and wide to be a community of hard-working, loving, and passionate individuals. When the Coronavirus closed schools, offices, and daily activities, our community was truly shaken. Though the memories of on-campus activities may seem insignificant at the moment, we hope that through these challenging times you might find a moment to remember and hold on to them. As graduating Seniors end their years at SPU with a heavy heart, and Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors alike mourn the loss of their spring quarter, our community has proven to be stronger than ever. In this collection, you will find memories being harshly interrupted by a change in community and culture. The beginning of this year started like any other, then changed into something unpredictable, and life-changing. Technology has gifted us the ability to be present and active in new ways. I hope this book acts as a reminder of how far we have all come since the beginning of the year. Cascade is in a truly unique position this year, and has decided to give everyone access to the 2019-2020 yearbook. Our team has worked diligently to collect all of the highlights from the year, including the truly unique spring quarter. After nearly one hundred years of tradition, we will be going digital to allow students, and faculty the ability to remember the strong and powerful community that SPU holds on its campus. We wish you all the best as you move forward in life as strong and passionate leaders.
