With large rotund forms and vibrant colours and glazes, my distinctive take makes for ceramics which exude style and personality. I continue to explore and experiment with glazes, colour and painting forms, and use various firing techniques including stoneware, Raku and smoke-firing. what to expect: Works on display will include large vessels, functional ware and Raku pots. A Raku demonstration will take place in the beech wood garden on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I will also provide an opportunity for visitors to glaze and fire a pot. directions: Take the A702 from Thornhill towards Moniaive. At Penpont turn right opposite the post office. After 2 miles turn right at a triangle. After another 2 miles turn right at a T-junction by Druidhall Farm. Continue for 1.5 miles, Goukthorn Cottage is on the left at the next junction.

I am primarily a painter in watercolour. Since moving to the studio on the Drumlanrig Estate I have been drawing and painting the gardens and buildings. My colour palette is high, bright and discordant, the drawing and brushwork loose and intuitive. what to expect: You will see finished framed work, mounted finished paintings and drawings. There will be mono prints and multi-media experimental work, work in progress and a great pile of failed, overworked damaged papers, etc and a chance to make something interesting from these to take away.
