1990s
The Rev. James Carter, S.J. ’52 has been asked to serve as President Emeritus at Loyola University New Orleans. He was the longest tenured president, having served more than 21 years. As President Emeritus, he plays an active role in fundraising for the university, working with alumni, donors and the community.
Robert Daniels Jr. ’90 received his Master of Information Systems/Management from the University of Phoenix on June 3, 2007. He works for the Social Security Administration’s Office of the Inspector General as a senior information technology specialist and team leader (GS-14). Robert and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Atlanta with their rottweiler named Diesel.
1960s James M. Hill, Ph.D. ’64 is Director of Pharmacology and Infectious Disease at the LSU Health Science Center. He holds joint appointments in Ophthalmology, Pharmacology, Virology, and Neuroscience. Dr. Hill has presented lectures in Berlin, Moscow, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, New York, Seattle, and Ft. Lauderdale. His laboratory recently discovered a human gene, Apoliptoprotein allele E4, that is a risk factor for herpetic stromal keratitis, a serious blinding eye disease. He and his wife, Barbara McCleod Hill ’66, are the proud grandparents of Zachary, 11, and Nicholas, 4.
1970s Mary Emma (Ackels) Karam ’76 recently received the President’s Award from Ursuline Academy of Dallas. The President’s Award recognizes those who provide extraordinary leadership and service to support excellence in the education of young women. Mary Emma is currently Senior Counsel in the Dallas office of Jackson Walker, LLP.

Alexandra S. Aitken ’96 moved back to Atlanta in 2005 after living in the Dominican Republic, where she was the assistant management officer at the British Embassy in Santo Domingo. She received a conditional offer of employment last year from the U.S. State Department. She is on a list of candidates eligible for hire as a Foreign Service specialist. She works for a food brokerage in Atlanta.
The Rev. Lisa C. Flores ’96 was recently called to serve Christ Church (Episcopal) in Grosse Pointe, Mich. She is the Associate Rector of Christian Formation and Parish Life. Lisa was ordained to the priesthood in December 2005. She began her new ministry July 1, 2007.
Kelly Slattery Kolbeck ’96 and her husband, Kevin, recently opened Shoreline Boat and RV Repair, specializing in fiberglass and aluminum boats, RV and personal watercraft restoration. The couple resides in Tulsa, Okla., with their two children, Cooper, 4, and Cali, 2.
Julie Renee (Hinton) Autrey ’97 passed her cer-
tification exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analysis. She works for the Association for Retarded Citizens of Baldwin County. She and her husband, V.J., reside in Bay Minette, Ala., with their 4-year-old daughter, Sarah.
Shayla Jones Beaco ’97 was promoted in April to serve the City of Prichard as economic development director. In this new role, she is responsible for creating and implementing economic development programs and strategies that will result in capital investment opportunities, job creation, meaningful workforce development activities, and business retention and recruitment in the Prichard area.
Jim Fry ’97 was recently accepted into the St. Joseph’s University Interdisciplinary Doctorate of Education program that began in August 2007. He recently completed work on the film “Our Lady of Victory.”
Melissa Jarreau Hodges ’98 and Don Hodges ’98 were married in 2001. They are the proud parents of two boys, Stephen, born in 2004, and Hogan, born in January 2007.
Delvin Seawright ’99 was recently promoted to Senior Accountant with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. He serves as the Cash Manager, supervising its Cash Management section of the Accounting Division. He is also a CPA candidate. Delvin and his wife, Lori, reside in Montgomery, Ala.
2000s Steven J. Foristal ’01 has joined the law firm of Armstrong Teasdale, LLP,

as an associate, in St. Louis, Mo. He is a member of the firm’s Corporate Services Group. He focuses his practice in the areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law, including corporate governance. He received his J.D. degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2007.

Melissa Holton ’06 has completed her first year of medical school at The Medical College of Georgia.
Marriages Nick ’01 and Sara ’99 (Radulski) Saacks live in Spring Lake Heights, N.J., with their two children, Thomas and Rachel. Nick works for the U.S. Army as a logistics specialist at Fort Monmouth, N.J. Sara is a reading specialist for the Wall Township Board of Education in Wall, N.J., and an adjunct instructor at Brookdale Community College. Their daughter, Rachel, was born on July 26, 2006.
Kevin Hamby ’02 is the owner of The Goddard School, an early childhood development center in Birmingham. The school, which has been open for about a year and a half, is at enrollment capacity. Kevin and his wife, Kelle, welcomed their daughter, Caroline, on August 8. 2007. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Jonathan Lucia ’04 has recently completed his master’s degree in clinical psychology at Appalachian State University. He works for Birmingham Southern College in the division of student affairs.
Lenice Emanuel, MLA ’06 was promoted in April to serve as Director of Grants and Community Development for the City of Prichard. Her former role as the Grants Administrator has successfully guided the city’s quest to secure meaningful grant funding. Her new position

Courtney Hassell ’02 and Justin Ehni ’02 were married on Nov. 18, 2006 in Houston. Groomsmen and ushers from the class of 2002 were: Christopher Brinson, Bobby Cavnar, Brooks Walters and Will Yankow. Bridesmaids from the class of 2002 were: Danielle Waterman Brinson, Jennifer McCarley Graham, Amber Houston and Monica Manzella Waldron. Courtney graduated from South Texas College of Law in May 2006 and works in private practice as a family law attorney. Justin works in the marketing department at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The couple resides in Houston.
Sarah Lindsey Pugh ’03 and Jeremiah James Kolb ’03 were married at St. Joseph Chapel on the campus of Spring Hill College on May 26, 2007. The reception followed at Stewartfield. Rev. Gerald Regan, S.J., officiated the mass. Both Sarah and Jeremiah are in graduate school at Auburn University working on their master’s degrees in the Biological Sciences program.
