Dear readers, On behalf of the entire team at the Adaptive Sports Foundation, we are pleased to deliver our 2023 Annual Report to our donors, volunteers, participants and friends of the Foundation. I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support toward our cause. Without the generous contribution of individuals like you, we would not be able to offer participants living with physical disabilities the opportunity to take part in outdoor sports, just like the rest of the population. I would also like to thank our 400 fantastic volunteers whose invaluable commitment and support allow us to welcome more and more participants each year. Thanks to their dedication, we can aim even higher each year. Our organizational model relies mainly on our volunteers whom we often refer to as« MERCHANTS OF HAPPINESS ». Their impact on the lives of our participants and their families is tremendous. We have included a link at the bottom of page 18 to assist you in making your donation for 2023. Once again, we are very grateful, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support. Cordially,

On behalf of the Board of Directors and our entire organization, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks. Your invaluable support is at the core of our overall success. Your tremendous generosity has a profound impact on our ability to turn dreams into reality. Today, if we can offer our unique services to so many people, it's thanks to you and your immense generosity. We genuinely believe that we are contributing to improving the quality of life of our clientele. I believe that the statistics, although impressive, do not fully capture how positively the entire family is affected by our programs. You can take pride in the tangible impact you have on the lives of many people by making a donation. Regardless of the amount, every dollar matters. I have been involved with the foundation for almost 20 years now, and I've witnessed rsthand how all of our participants are a real inspiration to us all. As for our dedicated volunteers, they embody the spirit of community engagement. They give countless hours towards our mission and without them, we would not being able to even come close to all of our latest accomplishments. Whether you are a donor, a partner or a volunteer, you can help us push the boundaries of the « possible ». We sincerely hope to continue this journey with you. Best regards,

O beginnings

The Adapted Sports Foundation (ASF) was established in 1995 through the initiative of Mr. Peter M. Treacy, an alpine skiing enthusiast from Knowlton, Quebec. Mr. Treacy, who had undergone the amputation of a leg following a car accident, was inspired by his encounter with a one-legged skier during a stay in the Laurentians. It was at that moment that he decided to create his own ski school at Owl's Head in the Eastern Townships. His primary mission was to provide individuals living with physical disabilities the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful winter sport.

O Missi

Our mission is to establish a variety of sports programs aimed at encouraging individuals living with disabilities to engage in sports activities, providing them with the opportunity to break isolation in a safe and respectful environment.

O Visi

We aspire to ensure that all children and adults in Quebec living with a physical disability have the same opportunities and access as the rest of the population, allowing them to engage in their favorite outdoor sports without constraints.

Who do we s ve?

ASF serves people living with physical disabilities, either by birth or through life experience, such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bi da, amputees, or Paraplegia amongst other conditions. In addition, ASF operates a sports program that provides veterans from the Canadian Armed Forces with opportunities for health and healing through adaptive sports and volunteering.

O 2023 wint pro am A huge thank you to the staff and the entire team of ASF volunteers. You allowed me to get back into sports from the early months of my rehabilitation. I did sports that I thought were impossible since my accident. Most importantly, I was able to do activities with my family, which is crucial to me. Sports allowed me to feel like a "normal" person again. Without ASF, I wouldn't have been able to discover all these possibilities. It was liberating and magical. Once again, THANK YOU! -Fred Morin, participant in summer and winter activities, and soon-tobe volunteer!

Last winter, we celebrated our 29th season of adaptive skiing at Owl's Head, where our program originated in 1995. We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone at Owl’s Head for believing in our mission. Our Owl's Head program is the largest program in Quebec, and our volunteers have played an essential role in the expansion of our programs across the province.

to join us and share their passion and expertise with other disabled skiers. For everyone skiing in our program, they will be accompanied by an ASF volunteer who knows the slopes well and can share proper techniques for adaptive skiing. In addition, it's worth mentioning that many of our skiers would not be able to ski without being able to use ASF equipment free of charge.

The popularity of our ski program at Bromont exceeded our expectations last season and we are looking forward to the upcoming season. We encourage disabled skiers of all levels

O Adaptive CrossC n y Skiing Pro am We are really happy to being able to offer our members Adaptive Cross-Country Skiing. This program is also growing and allows more and more people to enjoy the beauty of nature. One of the highlights of this wonderful program last season is undoubtedly the day we organized specially for members of INCA, Canada's largest non-pro t organization supporting visually impaired and blind individuals. This day took place in a enchanting environment, and volunteers welcomed a total of six visually impaired skiers during this delightful activity!

O 2023 summ pro am

O 2023 summ pro ams Summer gives us the opportunity to get outside and enjoy what nature has to offer. We offer our participants more and more opportunities to make the most out of Quebec’s many bike paths, hiking trails, or lakes. It is proven that physical activities in nature may be very bene cial for everyone. It may contribute to improve one’s mental and physical health. By providing a large number of adaptive activities and events throughout the province, We intend to break down

as many barriers as possible and make outdoor sports accessible to everyone. With a large team of volunteers and specialized equipment, we are dedicated to creating as many memorable experiences as possible. ASF’s summer programming usually starts in May and continues daily throughout the summer until the end of September.

smiling, laughing and raising their arms up. It gives our volunteers a genuine sense of accomplishment.

To offer waterskiing to people with disabilities, we must tailor our approach to each individual's capabilities and needs. Our goal is that each participant has a fantastic experience and wishes to do it again. Volunteers welcoming our participants have ability to properly chose and adapt the equipment to each person's physical limitation.

Every smile is captured by a photographer in the boat and as they say « a picture is worth a thousand words ». We would like to recognize all of our volunteers who are vital to our program and its long-term success. We're continuously recruiting new volunteers to sustain this highly popular program. Additionally, our active volunteers greatly contribute to our ability to travel and offer our services to specialized summer camps like Camp Papillon and Camp Massawippi.

O Adaptive Kayaking and Paddle Bo ding Pro ams The summer season at the Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) is an exciting period where a wide variety of outdoor sports activities ourish. In particular, the new adaptive kayaking and stand-up paddle-boarding (SUP) programs we launched in 2021. These innovative programs are now rmly established in our offerings. positive impact of sports on self-con dence, mental health, and overall well-being. That's why we are delighted to see our participants push their limits and take part in an activity that they never thought possible. Once they acquire enough skills, they truly have the feeling of freedom and it creates unforgettable memories. The summer season at ASF is much more than a series of outdoor activities. It's a time when people come together, share laughter, stories, and moments of joy. It's a time when challenges become opportunities, barriers are broken, and inclusion is celebrated.

We take great pride in creating an inclusive environment where everyone can experience the thrill of gliding on the water, feel the wind on their face, and enjoy the picturesque landscapes around us. No functional limitation is a barrier to participating in water sports at ASF.

We would like to thank O’Sijja for lending us a helping hand on several occasions, making our activities even more unforgettable.

Redisc the j of g fing with the P ag f ! Golf, a sport that may seem inaccessible to people with functional limitations but, with the Paragolfer, it's now possible to reconnect with this sport. We were delighted to receive a donation from Durabac and its president, Patrick Charbonneau, enabling us to acquire a Paragolfer. This equipment has enabled us to introduce a new Adaptive Golf Program, reaching out to a broader range of people, providing them with the opportunity to rediscover a sense of freedom and ful llment. It also extends the boundaries of inclusion even further. We would like to thank the Waterloo Golf Club and the Château Bromont Golf Club for welcoming us.

One of our favorite moments was when Christiane and her husband Michel (see testimonial below) participated in a tournament at the Boucherville Golf Club, where they have been members for years. Christiane was able to reconnect with other members with whom she shares the same passion. These beautiful moments on the course strengthen social ties, and also serve as a reminder that, with the right equipment and determination, it's possible to practicing sports like everyone else.

For the past three years, I've held on to the hope of being able to play my favorite sport again. With my motor functions still intact and the desire to play golf persisting, I made a discovery that brought me great joy: the Adaptive Sports Foundation and its Paragolfer. The Paragolfer was easy to get the hang of. What a joy to hit golf balls again and hear the sound of a well-struck ball. By the second practice session, we were already back on the golf course. Special thanks to our volunteer René for accompanying us this summer. His good sense of humor and encouragement are contagious. I also took part in a tournament with my husband and met up with my gol ng friends. The Paragolfer has generated a lot of interest among golfers, and it's been simply wonderful and encouraging to move forward.

O P a-cycling Pro am Our para-cycling program welcomed 162 participants this past summer. We welcomed individuals, school groups, and day camps. We had more than double the number of participants from the previous year. Additionally, participants with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders were also able to experience adaptive cycling. For many, it was their very rst experience.

A highlight for us was ASF's involvement in a two-day event organized by CISSS Montérégie-Ouest. The goal was to introduce recently disabled individuals undergoing rehabilitation to a new approach for cycling, considering their new physical conditions. A special thank you to our veterans-volunteer who made this possible due to their availability and commitment.

O new Adaptive M ntain Biking Pro am Our recently launched mountain biking program has exceeded all our expectations, proving to be an outstanding success. Originally, it was simply an initiative to allow participants to explore the some of the 150 kilometres of picturesque trails in Bromont. However, it quickly became much more than that. A great number of people of all ages registered to try out our electric assisted mountain bikes. Several trails were enhanced last spring to ensure easier access for our bikes, creating a safer environment for all users. The bene ts became evident as several participants had purchased their own bikes by the end of the summer. What this program truly accomplished is wonderful. It encouraged mountain bike owners to organize group outings to explore trails, and share their new passion.

A p tn ship that c tinues to make pro ess. We at AFS are incredibly proud of our collaboration with Foundation Fusée and its president, Mr. Roger Lavergne, over the past 6 years. This partnership is founded on our shared commitment to providing sporting opportunities for youth living with physical disabilities. Together, we have organized numerous sports events, both in winter and summer, that have signi cantly impacted the lives of our young participants and their parents. Each year, over 40 young individuals from the greater Mauricie region bene t from these activities. For most, engaging in activities such as water skiing or alpine skiing would be nearly impossible without the support of our two organizations. Our objective for the upcoming years is to raise awareness about our services and encourage greater involvement from the Mauricie community, be it through volunteering or nancial support, to help us plan for the future. If you too want to make a tangible difference for young people and contribute to the long-term sustainability of our programs for Shawinigan and Trois-Rivières residents, we invite you to join our team!

I am honored to have been a part in this remarkable association. Together, we are 100% dedicated to enabling people living with physical disabilities to participate in different sport activities. Once the activity is over, participants are already looking forward to the next one. For some, it's their only outdoor activity all year. Thank you ASF and its volunteers for their incredible dedication to create inclusive and memorable moments that bring hope to parents. Long live this association which puts smiles on the faces of our young participants. Roger Lavergne President, Fondation Fusée

An unforgettable experience at Sentiers du Moulin, in the Quebec City area, for this rst E-Bike mountain bike activity in that region. A number of participants with functional limitations were also introduced to adaptive mountain biking.

We held a day at St-Joseph Lac near Quebec City, combining veterans and people with physical disabilities who wanted to try out adaptive water skiing.

The Richelieu 79 Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (St-Jean-sur-Richelieu) came to an activity day to make a $3000 donation in support of our sports program for veterans.

O Sp ts Pro am f vet ans This program aims, rst and foremost, to offer Canadian Armed Forces veterans the opportunity to participate in sports activities to break out of isolation, socialize with their peers, and nd a renewed sense of purpose. We strongly encourage veterans, men and women, to join our team of volunteers and assist with our sports programs. This allows us to accommodate a greater number of people living with disabilities each season. By becoming volunteers, veterans make a real difference, leaving with a profound sense of accomplishment and hearts lled with joy. This program signi cantly contributes to improving their quality of life as well as the life of our participants.

What an emotional experience!

This year, ASF welcomed more than 60 veterans, and among them, 37 registered to volunteer with our various programs. Veterans who engage in volunteering all bene t from giving back to the community, and for many, it is like receiving a second sense of purpose.

I spent an incredible weekend in CarletonSur-Mer this past summer with AFS’s merchants of happiness. There are no words powerful enough to express my gratitude for welcoming me among you. I haven't felt so grateful in a long time.

We also organized a retreat at the beautiful Auberge Sacacomie exclusively offered to female veterans. This opportunity was made possible through a donation made by the Quebec Veterans Foundation.

I look forward to seeing you again.

I had the privilege of taking part in a respite in Sacacomie in September. This event enabled us to forge bonds with our sisters-in-arms. The activity was respectful and non-judgmental. This type of retreat allows us to increase our selfesteem and it’s the start of something bigger for me as I'll be joining ASF to volunteer this winter in the Quebec City region. A thousand thanks to ASF and Julie Dumais (volunteer who help organize the retreat) for bringing us all together. She did an incredible job. Her great sense of organization and leadership makes her the best person to make this type of event a success. Thank you to ASF and the Quebec Veterans Foundation. Testim ials p tn s

I would like to share our wonderful experience with ASF and its dedicated team of volunteers! For two years now, our waterskiing program has been offered to our campers by ASF, and I must say that not only is satisfaction guaranteed, but also my peace of mind. The professionalism of their team, the seriousness of the operation, and the creation of memorable experiences for our campers make this partnership a true success. We will continue this partnership with enthusiasm so we can provide our campers with this quality service. As the General Manager of Camp Massawippi, I can say that the decision to partner up with ASF was the right one.

Each summer, this much-anticipated activity offered by the Adaptive Sports Foundation transforms smiles and laughter into unforgettable memories. Campers feel proud, strong, and capable through this safe and festive experience. They bring the boat, adapted equipment, and their expertise, supported by dedicated volunteers. Without them, Camp Papillon could not provide this water skiing experience. Their commitment to our campers is invaluable and plays an essential role in creating the 'Papillon Magic' at Camp Papillon that we aim to foster every summer for young people with special needs.

Update

r 25th Anniv s y Fundraising Campaign.

We are thrilled to provide you with an update on our 25th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign. Since its launch in 2019, our team has exerted tremendous effort to achieve our goal, and we are immensely proud to have successfully raised $2.7 million over a ve-year period. This remarkable accomplishment was made possible by the invaluable generosity of our donors, the unwavering support of our community, and the commitment of our volunteers. These funds were collected from private foundations, businesses, and individuals, many of whom pledged their support for periods ranging from 3 to 5 years. This surge of support has unlocked new opportunities, allowing us to dedicate much more effort to expanding our services across the province.

Alpine Skiing, Water-Skiing, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, CrossCountry Skiing, Mountain Biking, Para-Cycling, Gol ng, Ice Skating and Hiking. We also offer Horseback Riding and Rock-Climbing through partnerships with third party organizations. Finally, last but not least, our sports program for veterans which continues to grow year after year. This brings us to a total of 13 different programs. As you will see below, we continued to expanded our services and established new partnerships despite the COVID-19 pandemic. With your continued support, we aim to further expand our services and improve the lives of as many people as possible through our adaptive sports programs.

With the campaign now concluded, we are gearing up to build on our success and introduce a new initiative focused on acquiring additional adaptive equipment, strengthening our summer and winter programs, broadening our service spectrum through new partnerships, and launching an extensive volunteer recruitment and training campaign throughout Quebec.

Summary of our recent growth:

Our primary objective is to continuously increase the number of people we serve annually and expand the geographical footprint of our programs across the province.

Individuals Sessions Volunteers Volunteer Hrs Programs

From year 2014 to 2018, we had modestly increased our budget from $200,000 to $335,000 per year going from serving 50 participants in our Alpine Skiing Program to 338 participants in 8 different outdoor sports programs. The success of our 25th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign helped us expand our programs even more and in 2023, we served an impressive number of 805 participants. They took part in a total of 1250 individual sessions across 10 distinct sports activités, including
