Since 2010, Healthy Androscoggin and our partners have collected over 1.5 tons of medicine Quit & Win: A 5-week program that has helped over 1,765 people in Androscoggin County in their effort to quit smoking Work Healthy: A program that has rewarded nearly 100 businesses in Androscoggin County for promoting good health for their employees

Tobacco •“Tar Wars” education program for 5th graders • Tobacco support group that meets weekly to help those trying to quit • Technical assistance to worksites, hospitals, colleges, landlords and tenants to develop tobacco policies
Nutrition and Physical Activity • Food access, through the Local Food Council and the County’s Food Service Organizations • Teaching nutrition to low-income residents at food pantries • Farm to School and garden-based nutrition education programs
Substance Abuse • Androscoggin County Alcohol Enforcement Team to reduce underage drinking • Server Seller trainings to promote responsible alcohol sales • Project Unite, Androscoggin County’s substance abuse prevention coalition • The Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative to connect students in Lewiston and Auburn to substance abuse treatment
Worksite Wellness • Annual Work Healthy Awards that recognize leaders in worksite wellness at the Chamber of Commerce Breakfast
• Wellness Council of Androscoggin County, hosting quarterly breakfasts and providing technical assistance for worksites that provide policies and activities that promote healthy lifestyles
