Here we are entering the festive season and at end of another year! Whether you're someone who enjoys all this brings or a person who would rather it not be so, this is a time best meant with intention Your intention could very well be not to overspend or overindulge, or, it could be to find that peace in your heartspace and maintain it throughout One of my teachers taught me to develop a little sign for myself to remind me that no matter what was going on I am there for me! I chose to simply encircle one wrist with the thumb and finger of the other hand and to use this motion whenever I was in a situation that made me uncomfortable This little motion was connected to my intention To this day it still works to ground and centre me and it's been about 45 years!

The Snow Maiden

At a time of war, during a season of “Peace On Earth”, it’s natural to reflect on how a country’s people, and their silent heartfelt prayers, are separate from the leadership that controls and misrepresents them The following myth is shared with the hope for peace between Russia and Ukraine, and that parallel cultures need not be politicized, fragmented and lost

Every Christmas in Russia, a legend comes to life. And until recent times, this has been an innocent and magical time in Ukraine as well

As if stepping out of a fairy tale, beautiful girls appear in town wearing white trimmed blue robes and embroidered caps They also wear the traditional Kokoshnik, an ornate headdress dating back to 10th century Novgorod. These damsels glide through shopping centers, events, parades and photo ops. They appear on the doorsteps of fortunate homes, at corporate events and at orphanages with baskets of sweets and

toys. Smiling and waving, they confirm the promise of a happy New Year. They all represent Snegurochka, The Snow Maiden.

With her long blonde braid and magical mien, The Snow Maiden could be mistaken for Elsa, but Frozen’s Let It Go Girl is a Janey come lately. The Snow Maiden became a cultural icon 140 years prior, immortalized in a play by Aleksandr Ostrovsky (1873) and an opera by Rimsky Korsakov (1882).

To even see the Snow Maiden is a triumph of good will because she, and everything else Christmas, was banned in 1917 by the Bolsheviks, after the Russian Revolution. In 1935 the government relented, allowing her, her grandfather and a tree inside the home, to return as part of a secular New Year’s Festival Christmas became a legal holiday in 1991, celebrated on January 7th (by the Orthodox Julian calendar).

The Snow Maiden’s grandfather is Ded Moroz, or Grandfather Frost, that legendary outlaw also banned in 1917 He was believed to be too bourgeoisie, too capitalistic by Soviet authorities, because of his striking resemblance to St. Nick. (In fact, Ded just recently began wearing red robes, as well as the traditional blue). Here the resemblance ends, as Ded is primeval compared to Santa, as his origins are the Slavic snow god, Morozko.

The Snow Maiden and Ded Moroz live in Veliky Ustyug, a small town outside Moscow with a post office dedicated to answering children’s mail. This duo delivers gifts travelling by troika, a sled pulled by three galloping horses.

The Snow Maiden isn’t along for the ride as a mere ornament or Santa’s helper She’s an enchanted being of folklore, commemorated on hand painted Matryoshka (nesting dolls) and exquisite lacquered boxes Her ill fated life among mortals is a story of love and sacrifice

The Snow Maiden was born to Mother Spring and Father Frost. Her parents took pity on an elderly and childless couple who lived in the woods. They gifted the poor couple with their otherworldly daughter. The Snow Maiden devoted herself to her mortal parents, staying indoors and bringing joy to their humble forest home. But more and more, she was drawn to the faint echoes of village life nearby. The sound of laughter and music led her to venture out and seek the company of other youths. A young man, Lehl, captured her attention The Snow Maiden begged Mother Spring to give her a heart, so she could be like other girls And so, finding herself at last in Lehl’s arms, the Snow Maiden evaporated into a shimmering cloud. Love made her human, and so, she melted.

Other versions of this tale describe her coming to life after being built by her elderly parents, who gave her two blue beads for eyes and red yarn for a mouth This brings to mind the Germanic myth of the Schneekind, or Snow Child. Other variations of the Snow Maiden describe Mother Spring giving her a Love Wreath, or that she was melted by jumping over a fire, while playing with village girls. Accordingly, there’s an ancient Russian tradition of burning a straw figure on a bonfire to invoke the change in se

Find the Joy in the Season

Happy December!

Such a happy, busy month. Imagine enjoying the joy of shopping, wrapping, and gift giving Imagine the fun of cleaning and decorating your home Baking cookies

Singing carols, feeling the love and the joy of the season The grocery shopping, the cooking, the cleanup Parties Cookies Christmas Cards Time with friends Family get togethers

“Wait a minute!” you say “December is just one great big To Do list How am I ever going to get it all done?”

That’s what I want to share with you today I have a tendency to look at the joys of the season until I look at the list of things to be done That list can bring me to a place of overwhelm, resentment, and resistance about everything I have to do!

For all the people who truly love the holiday season and all it entails, there are many people who would rather hibernate until it is all over, which of course they can’t So how do they, (we) enjoy the season and get it all done?

Contemplating this article, I picked up some of my coaching resources looking for ideas. In the book, Ask and It is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks, the Teachings of Abraham, there is a list of processes to help use the Law of Attraction to attract and manifest what we want.

Know that the Law of Attraction is always working The challenge is to get it working for us instead of what appears to be against us The books tells us about raising our vibration, focusing on what we want, and feeling as if we already have it Not as easy to do as it sounds

In this article I am focusing on one of the processes to help you attract that loving joyful holiday season that you say you want,but often don’t get Why not? You don’t get what you want because your attention is on what you don’t want

According to the universal Law of Polarity, you can’t have it both ways You cannot attract joy when you are focused on what could or will go wrong

“No, No! Not me,” you say ”I focus on the joy of the holiday preparations I focus on how much I love baking the cookies and cakes and Christmas pudding and turkey dinner I focus on the loving, joyful time together with family.”

Do you really? Do any of these statements sound familiar?

“I HAVE to clean and decorate The groceries are so expense and all the people in the stores I don’t know when I’ll have time to bake, or clean, or cook I wish my spouse would help It would be nice if the kids would pitch in I HOPE the family gets along Oh, he is bringing HER to dinner andyou know what that means Christmas is not a television movie you know It is real life and it’s hard work and something always happens ”

All of those statements are focusing your attention on what you don’t want!Read each one out loud and notice the feelings that result. Oh I know that some of you really do focus on the joy of the season and really enjoy it. Yet many of you, and I’ve been there too, are focusing on the ‘awful’ parts of the holiday.

So how do you get to the place where your attention is on what you want?Process 18 in Ask and It Is Given, is about Finding the Feeling Place. How you feel does make a difference. The better you feel, the more energy you have. The more energy you have, the more loving you feel. The more loving you feel, the easier it is to do what needs to be done.And the easier it is to do what needs to be done is because it’s about making the holidays enjoyable

Finding the Feeling Place

is about using your imagination to pretend that you have what you want and you are now enjoying it When you are focused on living in joy, you cannot feel the overwhelm, resentment, and resistance because your vibration is high It takes practice to move from those heavy, low vibrations Just know that the Universe is

responding to your vibration and it is that vibration that tells it what you are attracting

I love shopping for gifts for loved ones so it’s easy to pretend that’s what I am doing I love decorating the Christmas tree but not the cleanup before hand until I remind myself it leads to the joy of putting up the tree Then the cleaning is worth it Crank the tunes, rearrange the furniture Easy!

Your point of attraction is your practised feeling that offers a low or high vibration Create ideas that feel good to you. ‘Get to’ and ‘Have to’ offer very different vibrations. Play with feeling how good it is to ‘Get to' . . . Pretend you’re checking off your holiday to do list with big check marks and high fives.’ That will make it easier to Find the Feeling Place.

The first Christmas morning my children were with their father I awoke feeling as if my heart was broken. I was so sad and so alone. This was a feeling I did not want to bring to my family’s dinner so I looked at, “What can I do to enjoy this day?”

I realized that this was the first Christmas in many years where I did not have to cook, or clean in preparation for the big day ahead At the time, I worked two jobs and had one day a week off I decided to see this as an opportunity I had a morning to myself so I took the time to pamper me I ran a bubble bath and enjoyed the quiet luxury by giving thanks and appreciating this gift I took time choosing what to wear and making myself look nice I called friends and family to wish them Merry Christmas

This little bit of self care raised my vibrational feeling from depressed and sad to feeling grateful and joyful for this special time on this special day. The children would have a good day with their father and then they would get a second Christmas with me Lucky kids I found that feeling place and it attracted a wonderful day

December is a busy month It can be easy to look into it and become overwhelmed, resentful, and resistant to all that needs to be done Take a few minutes a couple of times a day and focus your attention on the joy of the season and enjoy preparing for it Finding that Feeling Place is a gift that you give to yourself that is priceless You are worth it

Give yourself another gift and dare to dream about what you want for 2023 Take 10 minutes a day to dream, from your heart, where the real you lives What do you want to be, do, or have in your life Then watch for my next Passion Test workshop in January to discover what you really want It is possible!

“The Soul Expert”

Predictions

Every year I am asked by a local TV station to produce my list of predictions for the year ahead The show usually airs in the first week of December and I often get a lot of positive feedback from it so this year I decided to blog on it in order to share it with a wider audience As a Psychic it is one of the most vulnerable things one can do, to make your predictions public But what I have come to learn over the years is that by keeping small and to myself, I do not serve anyone but myself I will often research the insight I get Mostly because sometimes it is far fetched even for me to accept I am always blown away by the evidence I discover along the way There is also no rhyme or reason to what I hone in on, it varies every year

World Climate

We will discover cellphones are one of the major links to the world heating up so rapidly Those in power already know this but “minimize” it because the emissions are so low per phone, only 2 watts of radiation each However, after researching this a little deeper, I have discovered that 90% of the world’s population now carries a cell phone! That is a significant amount of radiation omitted worldwide when you do the calculations I also discovered that phones emit radiation even when they are turned off because they are always communicating with cell towers The number I calculated is 15 billion watts of radiation daily I came to this number after I googled how many people are in the world divided by 90% If there are 7 837 Billion people in the world, 90% is still over 7 billion, then x 2 watts The good news on this is that new technology will be implemented to thwart the radiation by the end of 2023 to help with this issue

USA still don’t feel good about Biden finishing his term in office I hope I am wrong about this

Trump will be charged and will see bars for things we are yet to even know about He won t be accepted as the GOP Candidate

Karli Lake, the GOP running who just lost the Arizona race who had a white substance delivered via an envelope to her headquarters will be found responsible for sending it to herself/staff to deflect her crude remarks about the attack on The House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband

In all people are tired of people being jerks to others This will no longer be tolerable in politics For 2023 Trump will take things to an all time low

Canada

New light shed on past “Conservative government” roles in indigenous affairs concerning lost or missing women They knew more and did less This creates quite a stir and will encourage an early election in 2024 We learn of some people high up shutting things down knowingly affecting the rights of the indigenous peoples

Environmental tragedy feels like a chemical spill or leak around Manitoba toward Hudson’s Bay

Next federal election is called early in 2023 to be held in 2024 in the same year Trudeau will leave his party as leader due to a minor scandal

Canada’s northern ice shield becomes less frozen leaving us vulnerable in the north This will encourage a call to look at newer weapons and a new air base to protect our North

Ice shield in the north and south pole continues to melt but a significant break in the arctic will have the world watching near Russia

Large oil spill near the Arctic

Volcanoes in Japan and Italy create chaos in those parts of the world

Devastating storms in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Jamaica affected

Mudslide in Venezuela near Caracas causing widespread mayhem

The Conservative leader Poilievre, gets a lot of unwanted attention near the end of the year, making him an unpopular choice due to his actions and past behaviors

Both major parties will have new leadership

There will be a high level of shortages in food and household supplies So, start stocking up on supplies and food in January & February This is really a worldwide thing

Hollywood

I keep seeing Kanya West or Ye as he is now known with a gun I feel there is an unfortunate situation about to unfold there

I am also concerned about Cher and Dolly Parton’s health There will be significant loss of life in older female musicians I see the number 3

Russian Conflict with Ukraine

Both sides gain and then lose ground, the winter is going to really hit the Ukrainians harder than expected by the end of winter It will look as if all is lost for the Ukrainians, but they bounce back and as a result Russians will take a heavy beating This is a long war that will not end for years to come But India and or Pakistan step in to support peace talks and become the heroes needed to calm the friction there

Russia’s economy hits an all time low around June!

Putin is at risk of being ousted in June and will suffer illness (possibly Covid or poisoning), but the world will think he is dead He will reappear almost a month later

North Korea continues posturing throughout 2023, China securely in bed with them and also Iran it will become very apparent in 2023 where the line in the sand is drawn

China faces world shunning as a result of their behaviour towards North America China to really target USA and Canada to create trade chaos

UK to be hit with a hard faced recession, one that affects children the most Wide spread poverty This comes on the heels of a “2 or 3 days” power outage like the one experienced in North America in Aug of 2003 And like that power outage, the UK will experience it in August

Covid This winter will be the worst for the children worldwide between covid and RSV I am gravely concerned for children of all ages Covid returns with a vengeance in March around the full moon which is the 7th or 8th We will see numbers like 1 in 5 will catching it, and it will overwhelm the whole world again However, there will not be any shutdowns, we will have to learn to live with it like we do with the flu

Those who smoke will be the most affected as the new strain targets the lungs again So, quit now is my advice for those who smoke 2023 will be the first year that the least amount of people world wide smoke cigarettes

THE CURE IS FOUND

UV light will be the universal cure Everywhere we go will have HEPA filtration systems with UV light The key is the UV lights But this will not be a mandated thing so those that don’t get on board will be shunned But I don’t see this fully operational in 2023 because humans are so slow to react We are like a bunch of ostriches with our heads in the sand, hoping it will pass

On a positive note, 2023 will usher in a revolutionary energy, intolerant of negative behaviour as people have grown tired of this and we will also see this create a significant change in the way we do business Expect an evolution in big industry!

Whether you feel the magic of the holidays, or are affected by the winter blues, no one can escape this time of year Everyone will have a different attitude about it as well based on their past experiences Does it delight you and bring childlike wonder as you decorate and provide the same magical experience for the little people around you? Does it cause you stress, financial or otherwise and feel overwhelming at times? Do you get wrapped up in the busyness and chaos that this season can bring, and after January 1 start coming down from the excitement, but continue to fall down into a depression? However you respond and react to this time of year, I just want you to know that everyone on the planet will be going through their own emotions, good and bad, highs and lows during this time.

Here are some tips for staying afloat during this time of obligations and commitments. First on the list, and one of the toughest is to keep our personal boundaries Don’t over spend if it will cause you to be short with your personal bills Don’t attend every function you are invited to if you’re not feeling up to it

Don’t put yourself in the same room as toxic family members who just want to abuse you The holidays are not a good reason to put yourself into situations you wouldn’t normally be in or around people that you wouldn’t associate with, and buy things and spend money on people that you wouldn’t typically

You are not obligated to any of that, this year or any year We set personal boundaries so that we feel good in our life and the things we are doing Other people will try to step on or push our boundaries, and it’s up to us to push them back or remind them what you have in place for yourself Be unwavering in self preservation This time of year and always It’s your greatest gift that you have to give yourself

Intentional grounding yourself is the next tip and would also be helpful when you are around a lot of people or keeping a busy schedule. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our thoughts, our to do lists, being positively affected by the magic in the air, and the hopes and wishes that the holidays can bring So before you attend a family function or work or social event, taking a couple of moments to ground yourself would be most beneficial for you It’s hard during the winter season here in Canada to walk barefoot on the earth or hug your favourite tree, both of which are quick and effective grounding tools However, you can also ground yourself by taking a few deep breaths while visualizing roots coming out of your feet, connecting to the core of the earth, and breathing out the busyness and breathing in calm Breathing out the stress, breathing in joy Giving yourself a couple of minutes to prepare for your social event will go a very long way with your emotional mindset there

There’s also something in our climate we’ve referred to as the winter blues, or known as seasonal affective mood disorder It’s when you live in colder climates, where it gets darker early and humans lack the vitamin D required to thrive in life Like a plant sitting in a dark room, it needs

the sunlight to regenerate itself, it needs the sunlight to shine down on it, radiating its beautiful glow over us and providing the heat to warm our bellies During the cold winter months, it’s easy to stay inside, to not feel the sunshine on your face or fresh air in your lungs, but we still need it. Much like that plant, we need the sun to survive So if you look for a vitamin D supplement, or ensure that you get fresh air and sunshine in the cold as well, you won’t feel as affected by the darkness Literally Consider that the sunshine shines light into our soul. Don’t deprive yourself of that, ever.

We also get to a time when there is lots of snow, winter conditions are at their peak, socializing is at a minimum, getting outside for exercise and fresh air is a rarity, and we may feel the blues starting to set in just because of the massive change in our routine Also, humans are social creatures, and we thrive from being around good friends, good company It’s helpful to have someone in your life that you can verbalize your thoughts and emotions to and gain different opinions, perspective, and validation on your feelings Don’t suffer alone, or in silence, that is a form of self sabotage and you’re only hurting yourself I encourage you to consider the winter months as a form of hibernation Maybe you are a social butterfly most of the year, but take this time for yourself Staying home, tending to your personal projects, taking care of yourself, body, mind, and soul

The spring always offers a sense of rebirth and excitement New growth is happening all around us, and love is always in the air. What if we spent the months prior to spring slowing down, resting, recuperating, and recovering from the busyness of the holiday season. Instead of being sad, be glad to have the time to take care of things around your house Instead of feeling depressed, express your thoughts and emotions in a healthy and productive way Instead of falling down the ladder of life, hold on to where you are, and breathe through the challenging times. There are ways and many professional people that can help you break out of this seasonal cycle if you are one to feel down throughout or after it.

So reach out if you need, stay warm and well and remember that it’s important for you to give yourself what you need this holiday season Give yourself the gift of your full attention, I promise you it will be worth it You are worth it

Mystical Yet Practical Guidance with Tarot

Intro to Tarot – The Major Arcana -- Justice and

Over the past few issues of Spiritual Niagara Insights, I’ve been introducing you to the world of the Tarot. We’re starting our journey with the Major Arcana cards, the universal archetypes that resonate with us human beings at the soul level. Last time we met the introspective and introverted Hermit, and rolled with the ups and downs of The Wheel of Fortune Now, get ready to meet the next two cards in the deck, Justice and The Hanged Man

Just in case you’re not familiar with the Tarot, here’s a quick recap of what the Majors are before we dive in

A traditional Tarot deck has 78 cards Every card in a Tarot deck is valuable and necessary Each has a role to play in our readings But it’s the Major Arcana that first captures the heart of a new reader, as the Major Arcana is the heart of the Tarot

There are 22Major Arcana, and they are numbered from zero (The Fool) to 21 (The World) The Major Arcana, or “Big Mysteries”, represent the archetypes, lessons, milestones, initiations, opportunities for growth and transformation that we encounter as we live our lives on earth in these ephemeral physical forms They support us, inspire us, challenge us, break our hearts, heal us, and help us to

move towards our own highest personal development. When they appear in your Tarot readings, pay close attention to them, because they always deliver a significant and helpful message.

And now, let’s move on to the next two cards in the Fool’s Journey First, Justice, Arcana 11.

Like the Wheel of Fortune one card back, Justice also carries the weight of karma When Justice appears, she’s letting you know that you will get what you deserve, words that can be reassuring, vindicating, or

chilling, depending on your previous actions.

Justice in the Tarot isn’t blind. In fact, she’s looking right at you, and through you She won’t be swayed from what she knows to be right and

true and fair She has complete conviction in herself and her judgement She uses her scale to weigh the pros and cons of the situation, and to consider all information available, but once she makes a decision it is law

Justice sits in balance between two columns, but the ones we see here aren’t black and white like those of the High Priestess Justice isn’t always black and white, sometimes we’re in gray territory, and it takes Justice’s discerning eye and logical mind to arrive at the correct verdict

So, what does it mean when Justice appears in your cards?

Justice represents truth and objectivity She asks you to be honest with yourself, to judge your actions with a neutral eye, and to take responsibility for them. It isn’t always fun, or easy, to examine your own motivations and behaviors, but Justice lets you know that this check in is necessary to make sure that you are acting in alignment with who you are, or want to be, and what you stand for. And, if you don’t know what you stand for, it’s time to figure that out.

Justice also lets you know that the time is right to make some important decisions based on logic rather than emotion. Weigh the pros and cons before you commit, but don’t deliberate forever. Make the choices that sit well with you, that are fair for all concerned, even if it isn’t a dream come true for you

On a pragmatic note, if you are in the process of entering into any legal agreements or signing contracts of any kind, read them through carefully, and make sure you know what you are agreeing to

And now, meet The Hanged Man, Arcana12.

Your first impulse may be to turn this card around, so that the figure is upright Take a closer look, and you’ll realize that this won’t work, in fact it’ll take away the magic and put the hanging figure in a more precarious and improbable position He’s right where he needs to be

The Hanged Man is in a strange position, and yet we don’t see any signs of distress in his body or on his face. He looks relaxed, serene even. He is hanging from a tree by his ankle, upside down, but his other leg is crossed at a jaunty angle, and his arms rest behind his back. We don’t know if his hands are tied, but the ease of his posture gives us the impression that they aren’t He looks like he’s waiting for

something, but he knows it is coming, so there’s no need to get impatient and no way to hurry things up.

As he hangs, his eyes are wide open, gathering in information from everything that’s around him. His golden halo shows us that he’s becoming enlightened and spiritually illuminated through this process. The Hanged Man has a dreamy feeling of transcendence, he has reached a state of grace and detachment.

So what does it mean when The Hanged Man appears in your cards?

The Hanged Man asks you to surrender, release, and let go Just BE There isn’t anything effective that you can do right now, so relax, hang back and observe how things unfold This can be extremely difficult to do, especially if you’re at a point when you want things to change, or you want to move forward and make things happen, but there’s no point in pushing You’ll get the most benefit out of this time by going within, reflecting and looking at life from a different perspective, so that the solutions you need can present themselves to you Be at ease in your life, no matter where you are at the moment, because it is where you need to be Doesn’t that feel good?

I will not let my anxious thoughts have power over me.

1. You will need crayons, pencil crayons, chalk, pastels, paint or markers in a variety of colours.

2. Find a quiet and comfortable place. Play soft meditative music if you can or open the windows and listen to the soothing sounds of nature.

3.  Start colouring. Don’t think about your choice of colour too much and don’t worry about matching colours. Let your instincts guide you. After you’ve begun with the first colour the rest will follow naturally.

4.  Begin from the middle to release hidden energy. Colour in from the outside to the centre to find your own meditative centre. Keep the direction you have done and continue until you feel it is finished.
