Girl Scout DreamLab is a place where girls can dream big—where they can reach beyond the activities they might do at home or at school. It’s the Girl Scout experience housed in an easy-to-access, open-to-the-public space. This new concept brings Girl Scouts a hands-on STEM center, a video and podcast booth to showcase their talents, a bouldering wall to test their strength and agility, and an outdoor skills area to learn and practice camping competency—all in a centrally located physical location that is open and welcoming to all.

Spend Your Summer with Girl Scouts! Your Girl’s Guide to Summer Fun is just part of the picture. Use it along with your Annual Program Book, available on our website, for a complete roadmap to your Girl Scout adventure. Register for programs online at GirlScoutsNebraska.org. Our programs are open to EVERY girl, grades K-12.

Benefits of Girl Scouts Try new things. Make new friends. Go on countless adventures. There’s a whole world of opportunities waiting for you when you become a Girl Scout! In Girl Scouting, girls enjoy the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through enriching experiences and activities, girls discover their values, connect with those who share their vision, and take action to make the world a better place.

The Girl Scout Difference We all know the Girl Scout mission: building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. But how exactly does that happen? Our success comes from focusing on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). The GSLE is designed to help girls everywhere develop as leaders and build confidence by learning new skills. It also ensures that Girl Scouts at every level are sharing a powerful, national experience—girls together changing the world! GSLE FOUR PILLARS Everything in Girl Scouts centers around our four pillars, designed to meet her where she is now and to grow along with her. A Girl Scout has an exciting array of choices to suit her interests at every age: 1. STEM: engineering, robotics, coding, cybersecurity, space science 2. Outdoors: exploration, environmental stewardship, camping 3. Life Skills: arts, first aid, healthy living, friendship, issue advocacy 4. Entrepreneurship: cookie business, financial literacy, innovation GSLE FIVE OUTCOMES Our GSLE is a one-of-a-kind leadership development program for girls, with proven results. When girls participate in Girl Scouts, they thrive in five key ways: 1. Sense of Self: have confidence in themselves and their abilities 2. Positive Values: act ethically, honestly, and show concern for others 3. Challenge-seeking: try new things and learn from mistakes 4. Healthy Relationships: develop and maintain healthy relationships 5. Problem-solving: identify and solve problems in their community 6 | Girl’s Guide to Summer Fun

A bioblitz focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area during a short time. The goal is to get an overall count of plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms living in a place. Participating in these hands-on studies is a fun and exciting way for Girl Scouts to join experts and scientists in the field, learn about biodiversity, and better understand how to protect it. Since being created in 1996 by the National Park Service, bioblitzes have been held throughout the world. Participants have identified many species rarely found in the parks where inventories were conducted. Maybe you’ll make an unexpected discovery! Adults must register with girls, using the volunteerto-girl ratios. NOTE: Parking at the Schramm Education Center is free but if you choose to park within Schramm Park, all vehicles must display a park permit. Permits may be purchased at the park.
