Allotments Blooming!

News From

Bressingham and Fersfield Allotment Association have been hard at work in the last few months, weeding and digging to prepare new plots for aspiring allotmenteers.

Diss Library.

Association chair, Michelle Lanchester of Bressingham has a long standing family connection with the site as her Grandfather held a plot there many years ago, “The site did fall out of use for a time” she explained, “but I really wanted get it up and running again so that more families could enjoy the benefits of growing their own fruit and veg.” Michelle persuaded the Parish Council to allow her to take a plot in 2007, another tranche of plots were opened up and let in 2010 and now, the remainder of the site has been cleared and a further 12 plots are ready for new tenants. “The plots are in good shape” said Michelle, “They’ve been cleared of weeds

and are ready to go. It’s a lovely site, in a beautiful countryside location. There are quite a few young families here and it’s really nice to see the children getting involved and learning where their food comes from” Anyone interested in taking on a plot can call Michelle on 07824 515801 or Karl on 07736345006.
