STERLING REICHENBACH

Sterling resides in Bath, MI on her family’s farm where they raise competitive Angus and Shorthorn show cattle. Growing up, she was extremely active in all aspects of the show cattle industry, competing at the local and national level consistently while serving on the Michigan Junior Angus and Michigan Junior Shorthorn boards. Throughout her junior career, Sterling c ompeted across the state of Michigan and traveled across the country exhibiting at shows such as NAILE, Shorthorn and Angus Junior Nationals, and the National Western Stock Show. Sterling’s photography story began after she graduated high-school when her father bought her a camera as her graduation gift. When getting started in the world of livestock photography, she did several internships for prominent p hotographers in the industry and grew tremendously. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to photograph events across the country and some of her favorite moments have been taking cattle backdrops at the American Royal, ring shots of sheep, goats, and cattle at the Oklahoma Youth Expo, taking backdrops of equine, llamas, dairy goats and cattle at the Nebraska State Fair and many more.

“Throughout my junior show career we never missed a NWSS and even now that my junior career is over I still have not missed one. Whether itʼs going to help respectable breeders in the industr y get their livestock ready for exhibition, going to watch livestock show that I have sold, or simply just going just to watch - I always have and always will make it a point to attend the greatest show on earth.” CO-OWNER OF EMPIRE IMAGERY

Using his knowledge and passion for the industry, Zack served on the board of two national breed associations. Zack’s show career w as extremely sucessful, claiming top 5 wins across the country. During his time in the ring he developed a passion for the creative side of the livestock industry. It was not until 2012 that he picked up a camera for the very first time, but he was instantly hooked. From working for other professionals in the industry, creating ZL Photography, and eventually starting Empire Imagery, he has made moves with his creativity behind the lens. In addition to photography and design, Zack manages 350 show-feed dealer accounts for his fathers company, Purple Pursuit Show Feeds. Zack has had the opportunity to photograph shows across the country and some of his favorites include: Iowa State Fair, American Royal, Angus Junior Nationals, Oklahoma Youth Livestock Expo, San Antonio Stock Show, Illinois State Fair and Indiana State Fair

“As cliche as it may sound, I think many people in our industr y will agree with me when I say that our hearts belong in Denver when it comes to livestock shows. I have been participating and exhibiting at the National Western Stock Show for as long as I can remember. There arenʼt any other livestock shows that have the atmosphere, or quite frankly, the experience that the NWSS offers. Whether youʼre in the barns or walking through the yards, you know you are admist the best people in the industr y. I canʼt wait to have children of my own walking through the ring on that green carpet at the super bowl of livestock shows.” CO-OWNER OF EMPIRE IMAGERY

the difference is in the DETAILS.

STAFF From coast to coast, our staff is compromised of some of the most talented individuals in the industry.

Lexi, a Illinois native, is no stranger to the show cattle industry. Lexi had a very successful 11-year show career, where she obtained numerous division titles at shows such as the North American International Livestock Exposition, the National Western Stock Show, American Royal, as well as the Junior National Hereford Expo. Lexi’s passion for photography was sparked after the conclusion of her junior show career when she decided to purchase a camera, and began looking for internships to expand her knowledge and gain experience. In the summer of 2020, she applied for the Empire Imagery internship position and has never looked back since. In one sh short year, Lexi has blossomed into an extremely well-rounded photographer whom’s talent is truly unmatched. Lexi has had the opprtunity to photograph at the Junior National Hereford Expo, Chi/Maine Junior Nations, Sioux Empire Livestock show and several other jackpots and state shows across the country.

The National Western was always my favorite livestock show to attend growing up,and I was lucky enough to be pretty successful in the Hereford ring there as well. The atmosphere there is truly unmatched, and being there under the lights at the super bowl of livestock shows is an experience I wish ever yone could have the opportunity to experience.

Makayla

Lexi

Makayla, an Oregon resident, has been involved with the livestock industry for close to fifteen years. She grew up showing steers through 4H as well as heifers at the local and national level. Makayla currently works at Schaeffer Show Cattle where she flies across the country attending livestock shows throughout the year, and she has a photography company of her own where she specializes in portrait and wedding photography. Even with her hectic schedule, she remains very involved in her family’s show cattle operation where they breed and raise elite show cattle that compete at every level. Not only does Makayla have strong ties to the cattle industry, but sis her sister and brother-in-law run a 300+ head show lamb operation out of Elk City, OK that has allowed her interest and passion to grow for this species as well. Through periodically working in the barn, helping photograph sale lambs, and assisting at shows, her knowledge and love for show lambs has grown tremendously. Back at home this year her children, who are four and five years old, have projects of their own, and have been showing calves at jackpots throughout the state. Seeing her very own kids in the ring has not only reignited her love for this industry, but it has made her realize how truly important capturing memories through a lens is for families to cherish for years to come.

My family and I first started attending the NWSS in 2014, where my sister and I exhibited heifers until her last year in 2020. The NWSS was the ver y first national show we ever attended! It holds a special place in my heart, and I know we will continue to attend for years to come. In just a few short years, my kids will get to experience what walking into the ring at the National Western feels like and I canʼt for them to get that opportunity!

Angie

Angie’s roots in California agriculture run deep. She grew up showing hogs, sheep, and cattle competitively on all levels. During her junior career, Angie was the President of the National Junior Swine Association, was actively involved in FFA serving on the chapter and regional officer team. She was also a National Finalist in FFA for vegetable production proficiency, state communications proficiency, and the livestock judging team. Following her junior career, Angie had a strong desire to give back and she does just that through photography and several leadership positions. Today, she is the Next Level Livestock Camps Director of Communications, and is t he leader of her local 4H club. Angie has been photographing livestock and people for five years and enjoys swine and sheep the most. Angie has had the privilege to photograph some very prestigious shows including Missouri State Fair, Wisconsin State Fair, Western Regionals and Rodeo Austin.

Alicia took a different route to get where she is today, but boy we are sure glad she ended up here! She grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico and moved to Oklahoma after high school to go to college. She graduated and realized that she had a different dream, that involved photography. She began her livestock photography career in 2014 and has shot at numerous shows across the country. She currently resides in Cameron, MO and works with Team Sloan with marketing & daily farm/livestock care.

an inside view of the National Western Stock Show definitely gives me a reason “ Having to want to come back year after year. Hands down my favorite show to photo! ”

Alicia

Demi has been involved with the livestock industry all of her life. Throughout her junior show career, she was extremely involved in 4H, and was also a member of her local FFA chapter. As she grew up, she ventured into sheep, and began to show market sheep at all levels and was extremely competitive! Demi has always had a passion for photography. At a young age, she took pride in capturing images to enter in the contests at the local fair and even Junior National events. In college, Demi interned for Sullivan Supply, where she was able to explore the realm of livestock photography at a new level. This experience opened many doors for her, and she quickly jumped into the industry headfirst working for some of the most reputable in the game. Some of her favorite events that she has photographed include the American Royal, North American International Livestock Expo, Oklahoma Youth Expo, Iowa State Fair, Kansas State Fair, Maryland State Fair and Indiana State Fair.

Demi

I have had the privilege to attend, exhibit, and work for various breeders at the National Western on both the cattle and sheep side of things but it has always been a dream of mine to photograph the most historic yet prestigious livestock show in existence.

Emma

Emma resides in Ohio, but is always on the move capturing precious memories at livestock events across the country. Growing up, Emma has always been involved in agriculture. As a 12 year 4-H member and 4 year FFA member, she was very involved in my community at the local, state and national level. She served as the president of her 4-H club, reporter for her local FFA chapter and was the livestock chairman of the junior fair board. She and her younger sister grew up exhibiting primarily cattle and sheep all over the country, but have recently added a few goats and pigs to the barn as well. Emma attended Ohio State University and majored in agriculture communications and during her f reshman year she purchased a camera and found herself taking pictures here and there in her spare time. Eventually, she decided to try her hand at photography and did an internship with Linde’s Livestock Photos and that is what ignited her passion for photography. Her internship took place at the Ohio State Fair, but she later went on to picture the North American International Livestock Expo with her that fall as an official member of the team. Since then I have pictured some of the most prestigious shows in the country alongside some of the most talented professionals in the industry. Some of my favorite shows to photograph have been the National Western Stock Show, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Fort Worth Stock Show, Arizona National, North American International Livestock Expo and Tulsa state fair.

The NWSS has been a favorite of mine for many years. The memories made in Denver and histor y that lies within the Yards are what keep myself, and many more coming back year after year. While Iʼve attended the NWSS a couple of times as a spectator, Iʼve also attended several years as a photographer. NWSS has been one of my favorites to photograph since I walked up the hill with my camera bag. The quality of livestock is elite and itʼs an honor to be a part of an event that holds so much histor y and importance to the industr y.

Tar

Tar is from Faribault, Minnesota but currently resides in the great state of Texas where he is attending Texas A&M. Tar is a city kid who found a deep passion for the agriculture industr y and all it entails. Having shown for the past 10 years, he has found his home in multiple breeds and has been actively involved in 4-h and FFA for the past 10 years as well. Tar is not only active on the local level, but he has ser ved on 2 National junior boards, the North American Junior Red Angus Event junior board, and currently ser ves as a director for the National Junior Hereford Association's Junior board. Tar has enjoyed capturing moments and memories for families across the countr y at numerous events for the past 8 years. He has worked for some of the biggest names in the game, including Pearls Pics Photography and The Pulse by Sullivan Supply.

Since attending my ver y first NWSS in 2015, I have never missed a year to date. Having shown Angus, Red Angus, Limousin, Simmental and Herefords at the NWSS, along with having competed and represented the state of Minnesota and Butler Community College at multiple Livestock Judging contest, I have found tremendous value in the vitality of the show, and the educational opportunities it has, and the opportunities to learn and foster relationships with not only other producers like myself, but the information and facts to our consumers.

Rudy hails f rom the great state of Nebraska where she grew up showing cattle in 4-H, FFA and at the national level. Rudy was was president of her 4-H club, FFA chapter and was also a recipient of the American FFA degree. Rudy has learned f rom some of the best in the industry while interning for the American Angus Association and American Hereford Association. Rudy began her photography career in 2018 and began by primarily working for the Pulse. She has covered shows across the country including Nebraska State Fair, Kansas Beef Expo, Badger Kick Off, Minnesota Beef Expo and Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic Rudy currently works in her home state where she is the Manager of the Nebraska Hereford Association.

I went to my first NWSS about 6 years ago and have not missed one since. My favorite part was always the bull pen shows in the yard. I have worked for Hartman Cattle company with Simmental bulls and it has allowed me to network lots of old friends and new. The best feeling is walking through displays in the yards or on the hill and seeing the amount of pride the breeders take in exhibiting nothing but the best from across the countr y.
