SCHOOL AWARDS Coaches who believe their team has qualified for a School of Outstanding Distinction, School of Excellence, or School of Honor award (pages 50-51) may visit the bud room on Friday, located in Convention Center Room 122, to view a list of qualified schools. One coach from each qualified school should attend the National Awards Assembly at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening to accept the award on behalf of their school. (Note: World Schools Debate and Big Questions Debate do not count toward the individual School Awards.) CERTIFICATES AND POINTS A certificate will be awarded to each participant in a main event. Credit points will be auto-posted for all tournament and Congress participants. Coaches may informally figure points by checking posted ranks and using the NSDA’s point table (see page 52). JUDGE BOND INQUIRIES If all judges from a school complete all judging assignments, including semifinal and final round judging assignments, the $200 judge bond will be returned after July 1 in the form of a check MAILED to the school unless otherwise indicated through the online registration process on Tabroom.com. NO JUDGE BONDS WILL BE RETURNED IN CASH AND NO CHECKS WILL BE RETURNED AT THE TOURNAMENT. If a check is not requested during the registration process, a credit will be issued automatically, if due. All credits must be used by December 31 of the year in which they are issued. Failure to report for a judging assignment or pooling assignment will forfeit your judge bond of $200 for the first round missed, and a $100 per judge per round penalty will be assessed thereafter. A school will not be permitted to gain membership or compete the following year unless all outstanding fees have been paid. NOTE: TO ENSURE FINANCIAL SECURITY AND APPROPRIATE AUDITING PRACTICES, JUDGE BONDS WILL NO LONGER BE RETURNED AT THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. – 47 –
