Spectrum for Living’s 12th Annual Golf Classic Spectrum for Living’s 12th Annual Golf Classic was a great success raising over $56,000 for the organization. Over 70 players attended the event, held at Haworth Country Club on June 6th. Golfers started the day with a barbeque and putting green contest and ended with an awards dinner. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the outing whether it was through sponsorships, donations, participation or volunteering, it made an impact. Special thanks to our golf committee, your hard work is very much appreciated!
“An Evening of Dreams” Prom hosted for Residents and ATC Participants On Friday, June 10, 2016, Spectrum for Living hosted our first ever prom for our residents at the Teaneck ATC. Over one hundred guests from the group homes and apartments attended the “Evening of Dreams” themed event. Prom attendees were treated to an outdoor cocktail hour complete with “mock”tails, live music and the opportunity to have a formal portrait taken. After “mocktails” guests were ushered inside and onto the dance floor where DJ Randi Rae got everybody moving and strutting their stuff on the red carpet. A delicious dinner and prom themed cakes completed the event On Monday, June 13, ATC participants were treated to the same prom, with one minor change– the theme was now a “Day of Dreams”. On behalf of everyone at Spectrum, we thank our generous donors, volunteers, staff and family and friends who helped make this idea become reality. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Our clients truly experienced an evening and day of their dreams.

Volunteer News Between the Annual Golf Classic, Bassmasters Fishing Tournament, planting gardens at the Wayne Group Home, Spectrum's Got Talent Residential Show and the Prom, Spectrum has been keeping busy with some major events. We simply could not do what we do without the help of our incredible volunteers. There were many different jobs that needed to get done which included decorating, registration, event set up, and dancing with our residents. Thank you volunteers for always lending your support!

On Friday, June 24, Central Rec. hosted the Annual Yoga & Karate Exhibition at the Teaneck ATC which was open to the public. Participants demonstrated the skills they have learned through either yoga and/or karate. Both physical activities are great confidence boosters and a fun way for everyone to stay in shape. Excellent work guys! A big thanks to all who attended and Central Rec. for hosting a wonderful event. (Photos courtesy of Michelle Leung)
