Embark upon a rarely-done road trip, starting in Cairo at the Step Pyramid Complex of Djoser, moving on to the archaeological site of Tuna el-Gebel where one of Akhenaten and Nefertiti’s ‘boundary stelae’ is carved into the limestone cliff, and ending up in Aswan with a visit to the richly inscribed rock-cut tombs at Qubbet el-Hawa. There will be many fascinating stops in between, ranging from Gebel el-Silsila with its tombs and shrines to the remains of the rarely visited Temple of Montu.
