LOCATION COUNTRY OVERVIEW To travel to Spain is to experience sun, superb food, and hospitality. It is also important to discover the country's rich heritage of monuments and sights, the imprint of different civilizations that once made it their home. To travel to Spain is to journey journey through its singular and breathtaking countryside, to delight in the stunning, starkly contrasting scenery, to study the customs of its people and towns, and to share in the local fiestas and traditions. To choose Spain is to opt for diversity, to be the the central character in what is sure to be a truly unforgettable trip. This is what makes Spain such a prized destination worldwide, and why the vast majority of those who visit it once, return...in order to share in the enjoyment of a climate, countryside and culture which embody a rather special way of life.

ANDALUSIA Andalusia, the southern-most southern most region of Spain, covers an area of 87, 268 km2 and has about 7 million inhabitants. The geographically versatile landscape is bordered by a beautiful coastline stretching some 800 km from the southeast to the southwest, and edged by towering mountain ranges and thick forests in the north. The green and warm valley of Guadalquivir predominantly occupies the center. The region is home to such prominent cities like Granada, Cadiz, Cordoba, Malaga and Sevilla, which lie scattered across Andalusia's wide territory. Although diverse in geographical and "personal" character, the cities are bustling with urban activities and culturalcultural historical highlights.

Andalusia's economy conomy is primarily based on tourism. Not surprisingly, since Andalusia has a lot to offer the visitor; a colourful culture with exceptional historical sites marked by the medieval Moorish influence, a spectacular geography for the most jaded naturalists and a thrill-seeking adventurers, renowned friendly and hospitable people, and last but not least, a remarkably benign climate with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year spreading its rays on the sandysandy white beaches.

THE CITY OF MĂ LAGA Malaga is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and Malaga shares the combination of forthrightness and graces that characterized Picasso's art. Located on the Mediterranean coast, Malaga enjoys more than 320 days of sunshine a year with an average temperature of 22ÂşC, due to its location in the shadow of beautiful and rugged mountains.

Malaga is the perfect place to learn Spanish, history, climate, culture, excellent water sports, beaches, international mix of students and an excellent choice of locations for day excursions.

Spanish courses are given by experienced native speakers who hold a university degree in Spanish Philology and are in possession of the Certificate of Teaching Ability (CAP). They aim to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that speeds up the learning process, and teach the student as much as possible.

Activities are prepared and coordinated by licensed, energetic supervisors who are familiar with the age group involved and look after their needs. Supervisors accompany the students on their trips and are responsible for waking them up in the morning, ensuring they eat properly, plan the programme of activities and ensure they go to bed at an appropriate time.

All aspects of the programme are supervised by a summer camp director who is responsible for the coordination of the team of teachers, coaches and free-time supervisors.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND INSURANCE Health, accidents, theft and loss of luggage insurance is not included in the price of the programme (can be bought apart). If you are an UE student, you have to bring the European Health Insurance Card to receive first aid assistance in public hospitals. Nevertheless it is crucial that the school will receive detailed information about special health conditions that the young students might present (like allergies, diets etc).

VISAS Citizens of the EU do not need a visa to enter Spain. A valid passport is, however, necessary for all visitors. If the students need to apply for a visa the school will prepare a letter and send the enrolment confirmation once they have paid the tuition fee. To send the invoice of the course for those special cases on Non EU countries, the student must pay all the fees in order to receive this documentation. All the students enrolled in this course must bring an authorization as a minor, signed by their parents to start the course.

WHAT THE STUDENT SHOULD BRING Passport, backpack, sandals, bathing suit, towels (beach and bathroom), soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, sun screen, light sweater, pajamas, sports suit, comb, pencil, pen, eraser, notebook, dictionary. Pocket money (approximately 70 Euros per week).

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS While it is legal in Spain to drink alcohol from the age of 16, our internal rule is that during the activities organized by the school such as Flamenco parties, barbecues and tapas tours, students under 18 should not consume alcohol.

24 HOUR SAFETY PROTOCOL The school’s emergency phone number is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (0034 696279816)

E-mails that are not addressed in this way will not reach the student. The administration office will make sure that the student will receive the message

RESPONSIBILITY By enrolling the student for a course, the parents/guardians and the student accept to comply with the school’s regulations. By enrolling the student for a course, the parents/guardians are granting permission for the student to attend all activities organized by the school whether previously advertised or not. The parents/guardians will be required to remove the student from the school at their own expense in the event of a serious infringement of the school’s rules, and in case of breaking Spanish law. The school will not make any refund for the tuition or accommodation fees, nor be liable for any cost whatsoever in such cases.

CANCELLATIONS All the cancellations must be informed by writing to Malaga ¡Sí!. There is no refund for the 90 Euros of the registration. If the cancellation is made: • 30 days before the course starts. A fee of 30 Euros will be deducted. • 14 days before the course starts. 50% of the total price will be deducted. • 5 days before the course starts. 75% of the total price will be deducted. • 4 days before the course starts. There is no refund. • On or after the first day of the course all fees become non-refundable. As you will understand we take our responsibilities with our teenager students (14-17) very seriously. The students that tend to enroll in our programmes come from all over the world. Cultural customs and national laws related to students under 18 years behaviour differ. Malaga ¡Sí! has made a decision to define as “Under age student” all students who are younger then 18 years. The school considers the well being and safety of the students a priority, which is the main reason to define every student under 18 years old as an “under age” student. We fully understand that in several countries the limit is placed at 16 years, but as a parent we hope that you will understand our reasons. If you would like further information or assistance regarding this subject, do not hesitate to contact us.
