THE
MARTIN SEXTON - In the Studio Theatre
ABBA MANIA
Remember that mix tape your friend made you way back when - the one that's etched in your soul? Martin Sexton's new album, “Mixtape of the Open Road,” is that musical crosscountry trip, blazing through all territories of style, as you cruise through time and place. From 1996 to 2002, Sexton released “Black Sheep,” “The American,” “Wonder Bar,” and “Live Wide Open.” The activity and worldwide touring behind these records laid the foundation for the career he enjoys today with an uncommonly loyal fan base. His songs can be heard in many feature films and television including NBC’s Scrubs, Parenthood and Showtime’s hit series, Brotherhood. In 2007, Sexton began his most successful years to date with the release of his studio offering “Seeds.” In 2010, the album “Sugarcoating” found this one-of-a-kind-troubadour doing what he does best: locating larger truths. The accolades continued when Billboard called Sexton’s version of “Working Class Hero” for the Lennon tribute/ benefit in 2010 “chill-inspiring.” Sexton’s incendiary live show, honest lyrics, and vocal prowess is what keeps fans coming back for more!

DANIEL O’DONNELL
YAMATO, DRUMMERS OF JAPAN
It’s no surprise that Daniel O’Donnell is one of the best loved artists of our time, both at home and abroad. He has had a remarkable career. The Irish singer made record-breaking chart history earlier this year by becoming the first recording artist in the history of the UK Artist Album Chart to have charted at least one new album every year since 1988, an unprecedented and unbroken 30 year span, surpassing everyone from Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Madonna and Irish strongholds, U2. Daniel burst into superstardom in the USA & Canada back in 2002 with his first ever PBS special – The Daniel O’Donnell Show. That began a special relationship between Daniel and PBS and since then, he has recorded a further thirteen specials, with ‘Back Home Again’ being his fourteenth one in 2016. This fantastic selection of 32 / 37 songs is presented on this 2 CD / 37-track DVD set recorded and filmed in Ireland, on this new US TV special. The concert also features Daniel’s long-term singing partner, Mary Duff. After more than 30 years in the spotlight as an engaging entertainer, he is still in love with performing and with audiences the world over!
Yamato’s creativity and innovation conquer theatres around the world! A group of dozens of players start their performance by hitting a Japanese taiko drum made from a large 400 yearold tree. They move their whole bodies to strike the drum with everything in their souls, creating a powerful surge of energy. Their live performances are so full of intensity that they make people's bodies jump and their hearts race faster. Audiences are overwhelmed by the beat of the music, as their bodies are uplifted in sync with the powerful sounds. This group, from beautiful Nara Prefecture in Japan, is able to exhibit great originality and innovation through this traditional Japanese musical instrument, the wadaiko (Japanese drum). This is the epitome of the Japanese spirit, a roaring sound that will make you experience new exciting adventures.
