Get set for sizzling summer entertainment! After what’s seemed like MONTHS of grey skies and cold temperatures, summer is finally on its way!

This season, it’s time to kick back, relax and have fun with friends and family, or get out and meet new people. The staff and wonderful volunteers at the communityfocused Ropetackle offer you a very warm welcome, whether you are popping in for a coffee and cake at our award-winning Rose Petal Café (open 10-4, Mon-Sat), or coming to see a show.

The summer programme is full-to-bursting with something to suit all tastes and budgets. We have some exceptional comedy lined up, including stand-up stars Milton Jones and Friends (1st June) and Stephen K Amos and Friends (3rd August) and Edinburgh Festival previews from Matt Forde, Luke Kempner and others. The hugely popular Barnstormers’ Comedy Club continues throughout the summer (3rd Saturday of the month), and The Treason Show team pokes fun at the great and the good…

For children, there are magic science shows (3rd June), circus workshops (16th & 23rd Aug), Professor Slug’s House of Bugs (11th Aug) and a superb bubble show (24th Aug.) (Children Love that we are small and family-friendly.)

Music lovers can enjoy folk from Gordie MacKeeman & his Rhythm Boys (6th July) and Le Vent du Nord (4th Aug), jazz from Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Ronnie Scott’s All Stars (15th

July), and Liane Carroll’s Songlines, Canadian rock from The Damn Truth, and A Night of Blues and Boogie (12th Aug). There’s also a reggae party courtesy of Tuffwise and Gregory Fabulous, (24th June) and full-show tributes to Kate Bush and the Eagles

Don’t miss Raghu Dixit, The Ashley Campell Trio, John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett (50 year anniversary), novelists Peter James and Kate Mosse, and soul/R&B star Omar Lye-Fook. We also give a big shout-out to local acts The Wellington Wailers and The Shoreham All Stars and the brilliant storytellers whose dramatic tales so enrich our lives.

And remember: Ropetackle is also a cinema, a place to learn, a place to keep fit, and much more.
