Community Starts Here

The Capital Campaign For A New Facility Since 1892 the South Shore YMCA has been dedicated to strengthening our community. As the needs of the community continue to grow and evolve, a new facility is necessary to help us provide quality programs and services to more people throughout Quincy and the South Shore communities. The goal of the campaign is to raise $25 million for a 118,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that can meet the current and future needs of the community. It will be entirely funded by South Shore YMCA members and generous donors from the community‌like you!

DID YOU KNOW OUR NEW FACILITY WILL... Allow us to increase our impact from 20,000 to over 30,000 members and program participants

Feature green initiatives such as porous pavement, LED lighting and a waste recycling plant

Save us over $200,000 a year in maintenance fees and utilities

Serve as the gateway to showcase the redevelopment of downtown Quincy

SUPPORT THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

“ Since the late 1800s, every generation of community leaders has stepped up to provide the necessary resources to meet the mission of the YMCA. Now, it’s our turn to ensure the mission of the Y continues stronger than ever. We are working to build a new facility to inspire and educate people of all ages to embrace healthier lifestyles, to provide individuals with disabilities more opportunities for recreation and social programs, and to significantly expand our services for the youth, adults, seniors and families of our communities. — Daniel R. DeMarco

Chairman of the Board

FOR

Youth Development • With such close proximity to the new Quincy High School, we will significantly expand our teen programs and engagement. • We will double the capacity of our Early Learning Center so more working parents can have peace of mind knowing their children are safe and thriving.

Healthy Living • We will increase the space for the arts, wellness and leadership programs that have become a leading focus of today’s YMCA. • Our new Aquatics Center will feature an indoor water park and allow us to expand our commitment to water safety, instruction and recreation. • The new state-of-the-art Field House will meet the growing demand for athletic programs for all ages.

Social Responsibility • We will create a safe place with more opportunities for families to participate together. • Older adults will have additional opportunities for serving others and to feel connected to the community. • We will provide full access and better services for people with disabilities. • This project will enable us to more effectively serve all the neighborhoods of Quincy by meeting the escalating demands for food, shelter, education and counseling.
