Yachts, Music & More It feels like Summer is officially here with all the tourists in town, festivals and warm weather. This issue really highlights the tremendous amount of events going on in our region; from boating to markets to festivals and non-stop Summer music. There truely is something for everyone. The local Yacht Clubs offer some great comeraderie and loads of community involvement.
The craft and produce markets are starting back up this month too, that get’s me super excited. I love to pick up fresh fruit and explore the local hand made items too. They make great gifts for out of town family. Make sure to keep this issue so you can refer to the Summer Music section in the middle, it runs from May through to August. Enjoy!
ON THE COVER WHAT A SHOT! Sam Johnston’s 42 ft. NAOS with his colorful Spinnaker, I thought this was the perfect cover image. It was captured by Club Member, Denise Ferguson, while racing in a a PHRF Series Race up the Intercoastal Waterway. Sam is the Commodore of the Southport Yacht Club and avid boater. You can read more about the Yacht Clubs and all they have to offer the community on pages 5 - 11.
