Brummell, Diane Ethyl (nee Reeve) Holl, Richard Richard Holl, 77, passed away December 11, 2020 at Sarnia Bluewater Health Center. Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Erna (nee Christiansen). Richard, Dick to friends, moved from Cleveland to Pelee Island with his parents in 1951 to run the Pelee Island Trading Post. He attended Assumption High School and the University of Windsor. In 2015 he moved off the Island to the Augustine Villas retirement home in Kingsville. He is survived by 15 cousins and many, many friends. Richard had a generous heart, a wealth of knowledge, and a great love for his friends. He enjoyed playing cards, collecting stamps and coins, sharing stories and jokes, sitting on the bench with his cats and a good bottle of red wine. Richard was a member of the Pelee Island Masonic Lodge, 56 years, and the Pelee Island Legion. Please consider memorial donations on his behalf to the Salvation Army, the Pelee Island clinic or the Pelee Royal Canadian Legion Br. 403. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at a later time in Cleveland, Ohio and on Pelee Island. Smith Funeral Home in Sarnia handled the arrangements.

Whittaker, Douglas “Doug” Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Erie Shores Hospice at 80 years of age. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Oskineegish) for 58 years. Loving Dad of the late Elizabeth Annie (2008), Drew (Tammy) and George. Proud Papa of Raven, Ryan, Lillian, Dustin, Nick, Cara and Kaylee. Dearest brother of Eileen Cowell and predeceased by his siblings, Tom, Esther, Stan and Leonard. He will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Erie Shores Hospice for their wonderful care given to Doug. Also special thanks to Pastor Andrew Wilson from St. John’s Anglican Church in Leamington, for his support. Doug enjoyed camping and canoeing always having a love for the outdoors. He will be forever loved and missed. In following Doug’s wishes, a private family cremation has taken place. After a 2-year courtship, they were married in Virgil Ontario on February 3, 1945 and left for home in Leamington in a blizzard. They settled on a small farm and for 60 years the family worked together growing “garden crops. Cornie drove up to Windsor to work in construction, first as a supervisor at Morris Construction and then as part owner of Hilton Construction. In 1966 they created Erie Shores Construction with mom as the owner and president. We learned a good work ethic helping dad, and working on the farm with mom. Mom faithfully served in the church and in the community, leading Bible Studies, teaching Sunday School, and Girls Clubs, and encouraging young women through their struggles. She was loved by many people, she impacted many more, remembered people’s birthdays, brought food and helped those in need. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, friendships, love and hospitality. On Saturday December 19th, 2020 in her 79th year, peacefully at Royal Oak Long Term Care Kingsville ON after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Beloved wife of the late Darryl Brummell (2014) for 52 years. Dear Mother of Craig Brummell (Debbie) and late Sara Orlando (Vince). Morgan, Alexander (Sandy) Baird On December 14, 2020, Alexander (Sandy) Baird Morgan passed away at the Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington. He had celebrated his 89th birthday on October 15, 2020. Sandy had been a resident of Leamington since 1956 and a retired employee of Heinz. He had worked at Heinz for 33 years as a Research Chef. Sandy was the son of Alexander Baird Morgan, Sr. and Loretta Alice Lariviere of Montreal where Sandy was born. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, John as well his longtime partner of 30 plus years; Don Lockerie. He is survived by his husband, Dennis Dowker, his sister-in-law, Linda Morgan of Guelph, his niece, Karyn Morgan-Day ( Jamie Day) of Milton, his nephew, Jason Warnes (Melissa Williams-Warnes) of Toronto and his nephew Bryan Morgan ( Jennifer Bonello-Morgan) of Cambridge. He will be missed by his great nieces, Jadyn and Brooklyn Morgan, his great nieces, Addison and Brynn Warnes and by great nephew, Aydan Day. Sandy will be remembered by many as someone who volunteered to support many charitable causes: driving cancer patients to the Cancer Centre in Windsor, driving for Meals on Wheels, the Red Kettle campaign and many other agencies in the community. His sense of humour endeared him to everyone he met. Sandy also danced with the Royal Society of Scottish Country Dancing for many years. He enjoyed walks and swimming. Sandy was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Leamington and supported the work of the church in so many ways. In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and he will be interred at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery at a date when his family can attend. Sandy also wished to have a Celebration of his Life on the anniversary of his marriage to Dennis providing the coronavirus restrictions will permit that to happen.
