Dickens of a Christmas

It’s a Wonderful Life

One of our favorite Christmas tales hits the stage in Nashville, featuring hit songs like “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” In addition to his growing heart and the holidayobsessed Whos in his midst, the Grinch can also count on his dog Max to narrate his big adventure. Check out this winning musical at the Grand Ole Opry before it’s too late. Playing through Dec. 27.

You may know her from that impressive roster of Broadway credits or, perhaps, her television and film work, but Kristin Chenoweth is making her mark on Music City this December. Spanning two nights, her back-to-back performances with the Nashville Symphony will leave you wanting more of the holiday tunes and classic hits dominating her set list. Dec. 8-9.

The spirit of Christmases past sweeps through downtown Franklin in The Heritage Foundation’s Dickens of a Christmas celebration. The time-honored traditions of this festive affair remain intact, from roasted chestnuts to horse-drawn carriage rides. Some 200 characters, dancers and entertainers will fill the street, and don’t be alarmed if you see Ebenezer Scrooge roaming around Main Street. It’s all just part of the fun! Dec. 12-13.

Studio Tenn spreads holiday cheer once again with this stage adaptation of Frank Capra’s beloved 1946 film. Returning to Jamison Hall at the Factory at Franklin for the second year in a row, this heart-warming tale about the misfortunes and reconciliation of George Bailey features many of the play’s original cast members. Dec. 3-20.
