ASH KNIGHTS LETTER FROM THE CAPTAIN
Welcome back to Bobby Hancocks Park for this week’s league fixture against Cropredy. Its nice to get back into league action after playing the last 2 games in Cup competitions. It’s great we are still in 3 out of 4 cup competitions this season but it does mean you fall behind in games played in the league and you begin playing catch up. Without doubt the league is our bread and butter and for us to be successful it will be down to us finishing as high as we can in the league and get the club promoted. Last weeks home game was a convincing 9-1 win against Garsington in the league cup. However, I felt we were poor first half and we were lucky to go in at half time 2-1 up. Only thanks to Alex pulling off some top saves and Si scoring on the stroke of half time. After strong words at half time the lads came out a different side and they couldn’t live with us scoring a futher 7 goals without reply. We know we can’t start games like that. If we do that against a strong side we will be out of sight. Today’s league game is a big game against local rivals Cropredy. Having personally played them in pre season friendlies in the past I know its going to be a battle. You only have to see their impressive run of
results to know that this game is going to be a tough one. For that they will be full of confidence but so should we after our recent results. It should make for an entertaing game. Enjoy the match. Thanks for your support. UTS
