ASH KNIGHTS LETTER FROM THE CAPTAIN
Welcome to Bobby Hancocks Park for today’s OSL game against Launton Sports. With only four games remaining we will be approaching every game as a cup final as we want to finish as high as we can. Realistically we will need to win every game to have the chance of finishing runners up. That’s our aim for the remaining four games of the season and that starts today against a good Launton side. We met in the first game of the season, winning 2-0, which I thought flattered us as they gave us a good game. For me, one of the better sides we have played this season. Last week’s 0-0 draw away against Cropredy was a disappointing result when we dominated the game from start to finish. We just lacked that cutting edge in the final third. Something we have been working on in training this week. However, the result meant we have now finished high enough in the league to secure promotion. I’m delighted the club can once again compete at step 6 next year. Its not how you want to get promotion because you want to win the league, but if you step back and summarise things, its promotion that’s the most important however that may happen. I’ve been here since the restart at Southam and on behalf of everyone who’s been involved with the club, our promotion over
that period is fully deserved. And no one can argue with that. Congratulations to all players, ex-players, management, supporters and everyone associated with the club. It’s a collective effort and let’s enjoy the remainder of the season and try and finish on a high. Enjoy the game and thank you again for your support. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
