To enrol on this course you must be capable of achieving Level 2 in Maths, IT and English. To apply for an apprenticeship you need to be employed in the industry, if you have an employer please get in touch with our work-based learning unit on 0121 702 1084 who will contact your employer and make arrangements for you to start as an apprentice. If you don’t have an employer, fill in the college application form and we will contact you to attend an interview.

You must be dedicated, enthusiastic and have a desire to progress into the study of complex refrigeration systems. What will I study? You will study a combination of both practical and theoretical skills to form a skill basis within and understanding of the trade. In addition, you will study fire safety, gas safe handling and braising.

What will I study? You will study a combination of both practical and theoretical skills which form a high skill level and understanding.

What can I do after the course? The course will provide you with the necessary skill level for successful employment as a refrigeration engineer. You will be able to progress onto the Level 3 advanced apprenticeship. You will be qualified to sit the industry Standard-FGAS Qualification and to achieve competent person status.

What can I do after the course? The course will provide you with the necessary skill level for successful employment as a refrigeration engineer. You will be eligible to progress onto Level 4 HNC (Refrigeration and air conditioning).
