Scott Black Baseball Grounds Supervisor

10th Season

Scott Black enters his 10th year with the OU baseball program, acting as the facility’s grounds supervisor. He joined the Sooners near the beginning of the 2008 season and has helped OU host three Norman Regionals. The Noble, Okla., native is in charge of all general maintenance of the field and facility and oversees two student assistants during the baseball season. He enters his 16th year working with the OU Athletics Department and 23nd on the Norman campus in 2015. Prior to joining the athletics department, he worked in the physical plant for seven years.

Paul Buzzard begins his 10th season as the equipment manager in 2017. His responsibilities include all ordering, contract purchasing, issuing, inventory, laundry and maintenance of equipment and apparel. Additionally, Buzzard’s responsibilities extend to both men’s and women’s gymnastics as well assisting with football.

Black resides in Noble with his daughter, Abi (17).

Buzzard obtained a bachelor of science degree in business management from Gettysburg College in 2003. In 2007, he earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Temple.

Prior to his arrival in Norman, Buzzard worked at Temple from 2004-2007, where he worked primarily with the football team. Buzzard also worked two seasons in the New York Mets’ organization with minor league affiliates, Brooklyn and Binghamton, as the clubhouse manager.

Brendan Flynn Asst. Director of Communications

Robert Fulton Athletic Trainer

Fourth Season

12th Season

Brendan Flynn enters his fourth year as an assistant director in the athletic communications office at Oklahoma. He serves as the primary media contact for the baseball and volleyball teams. Flynn also fills in as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster on the Sooner Sports Network. Prior to arriving at OU, Flynn spent two years at Connecticut. He was the primary contact for baseball, volleyball and ice hockey as well as the secondary football contact. Prevously, Flynn spent two years at Sacred Heart University, where he worked with nine sports, including men’s and women’s ice hockey. Flynn was also a broadcaster on the Pioneer Sports Network. Flynn, from Wallingford, Conn., is a 2009 Springfield College graduate with a bachelor’s of science in sport management. He resides in Norman with his fiancé Emily Mattson, who works for the OU women’s basketball team.

Greg Tipton Senior Associate Athletics Director

Robert Fulton begins his 12th year as athletic trainer for OU’s baseball program. Fulton began his tenure with the University of Oklahoma as a graduate assistant from 2003-2005, working with women’s soccer, and the 2004 Big 12 football champions. Fulton also assists in the education and supervision of the athletic training graduate assistants and students. In 2015, Fulton was recognized by his peers in the OU athletics department as the recipient of the Inspiring Champions Award. Fulton is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association. He is a licensed athletic trainer by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers. In addition, Fulton is certified by the American Heart Association as a CPR/AED instructor. Prior to arriving in Norman, Fulton worked as a student athletic trainer at West Texas A&M University from 1998 until 2000. After earning a bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise sciences at WT, Fulton obtained his master’s degree in health and sports sciences from OU. Fulton and his wife, Jamae, reside in Norman with their daughters, Finley (12) and Daelyn (9).

Greg Tipton was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director-Internal Operations in August 2015. He is responsible for the oversight of OU’s athletics equipment operations, the Lloyd Noble Center and serves as the sport administrator for Sooner baseball and volleyball. A native of Fairland, Okla., and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Tipton began his affiliation with the department in 1990 as a student equipment manager. He became the assistant equipment manager in 1995 before taking over as the football equipment manager in 1996. Tipton was promoted again in 2000 to director of athletics equipment, overseeing the needs of the department’s 21 teams. Tipton is married to the former Diana Westrope of Healdton, Okla. Together, the couple is the proud parents of three sons, Alex Cullison, Tyler Cullison, Parker Tipton and one daughter, Rachel Tipton.
