FLOOR EXERCISE Similar to vault, floor has experienced a transformation for the Sooners. With creative choreography and clean performances still at the forefront, the Sooners have placed an increased emphasis on increasing lead-off and final tumbling passes. This season, OU will highlight five athletes in the primary lineup who will begin with “E” level tumbling passes and finish with “D” level passes. “In our estimation, we expect floor to deliver the whole package,” Kindler said. “We believe in playing to our strengths and emphasizing the areas that will make the athlete stand out. In 2014, we have it all: power, amplitude, difficulty, dance and presentation.”

Olson’s vibrant performances will be missed, but OU returns a strong group of experienced tumblers including Albright, Brewer, Kmieciak, Mooring, Scaman and Spears. Albright will be in the lead-off position for OU with undoubtedly the most consistent and energetic floor routine of the group. “Lara (Albright) is ideal to lead the team on the floor,” Kindler commented. “She has sassiness in her dance and flawless form in her tumbling. It is performances like hers that can bring your squad to an entirely different level.” Scaman captivates on this event and is expected to anchor the experienced line-up again. Spears and Mooring will provide crucial veteran experience and graceful presence that will beautify the squad. Kmieciak and Brewer each display power and big finishes. Newcomers Capps, Kanewa and Jones will add another level of sophistication to this line-up. Capps brings several years of competitive dance experience to the floor and her expression and timing are impeccable. Kanewa radiates personality and tumbles a sky-high opening with an “E” level full-in. Jones, meanwhile, knocks out a routine with “E” and “D” level tumbling in every pass and is continuing to elevate her expression on this event. Other contributors on the event will be include Lovan, Hemry, Price and Wofford. “Determining the lineup on this event is more difficult than ever,” Kindler said. “We have so many athletes prepared and the training is well ahead of schedule. The importance of capping off a home meet with the kind of fireworks that a great floor performance can create is huge. We want to provide the big exclamation point at the end of a well-constructed sentence.”
