CHIP IN CLUB PRESIDENT | SEVENTH SEASON

C

harlie Snider is in his seventh year as the president of the Chip In Club. A native of Waurika, Okla., he currently resides in Norman. Snider graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1970, receiving a degree in petroleum land management. He also served in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Snider worked in the oil and gas exploration and production business for 30 years with Ashland Oil, Inc. and Hamill Resources Inc., in Houston, Texas. He retired in 2000 as vice president of Hamill Resources, Inc. While working with Hamill Resources, Inc., Snider also served on the company’s board of directors. Currently he is a Vice President/Director of the Hamill Foundation in Houston.

“Charlie Snider has done a great job as the president of the Chip In Club. His enthusiasm for the golf program and Sooner Athletics shows in the effort he puts into this position,” coach Jim Ragan said. “I feel very fortunate to have Charlie and the Chip In Club as integral parts of our golf program at OU. I cannot begin to express how fortunate our program is to have Charlie involved.”

Snider is a life member of the OU Alumni Association and a member of the OU PLM/EM Alumni Association. He is a member and former chair of the Energy Management Board of Advisors in OU’s Michael F. Price College of Business. Snider is also a Certified Professional Landman and a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen.

During his many years in Houston, Texas, he was a long-time member of the Champions Golf Club in Houston and has assisted with organizing several “Houston Playdays,” fund-raising events for the University of Oklahoma men’s golf team.
