Transportation safety is vital to the overall health and well-being of the residents of Grand Hampton. Here are some tips for safety on bikes, golfcarts and pedestrians:

Bike Safety:

• Obey and follow all traffic rules

• Ride bicycles with the flow of traffic

• If you must ride in the dark wear reflective clothing or accents, especially on your ankles, wrists, back, and helmet. If a carrier is added, make sure the rear reflector remains visible

• Add the brightest lights you can find to the front and rear of your bicycle

• Always assume you are not seen by a driver

Golf Cart Safety:

• Obey and follow all traffic rules

• Make sure the direction selector is in the correct position before accelerating

• Always bring the golf cart to a full stop before shifting direction

• Slow down before and during turn

• Check behind you before operating in reverse

• Always yield to pedestrians

• Use seatbelts, if available

• Do not text and drive the golf cart

• Do not allow anyone to stand in a moving golf cart

• Do not drive the cart while intoxicated

• When Driving in the dark be sure your golf cart lights are on

Pedestrian Safety:

• Be predictable. Follow the rules of the road and obey signs and signals. Walk on sidewalks whenever they are available. If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic and as far from traffic as possible

• Keep alert at all times; don’t be distracted by electronic devices that take your eyes (and ears) off the road

• Never assume a driver sees you. Make eye contact with drivers as they approach to make sure you are seen

• Be visible at all times. Wear bright clothing during the day and wear reflective materials or use a flashlight at night

• Watch for cars entering or exiting driveways or backing up in parking lots

GH COMMUNITY YARD SALE

When: Saturday, April 22nd

Where: GH Community

Time: 7:30am-12:30pm

Grand Hampton’s Spring Yard Sale

Looking to do some spring cleaning and sell items you no longer use? Then make sure to participate in our Spring Yard Sale! Set up in front of your house between the hours of 7:30 am-12:30pm. This event will be open to the public. Don’t miss this opportunity to declutter and interact with your neighbors!

Some tips on how to start preparing:

Go through each room of your house and start your organizing. Sort into three categories: Keep, Sell and Trash.

The primary function of the DRC is to (a) establish standards for modification of homes and Lots in the community, and (b) to evaluate applications and design documents in accordance with the Design Review Manual for the Association. The Design Review Manual and all regulations, guidelines and standards can be found on the website with the following steps:

www.egrandhampton.com > docs and forms >design review

Here are some are simple guidelines to start any exterior modification request:

2. Submit a marked survey of your Lot that clearly identifies where the proposed modification will occur on the Lot.

3. Submit any other supplemental information as needed for the modification. Aluna's Zodiac

APRIL 2023

Aries (March 21 – April 19) — Happy birthday Aries! Joyous, prosperous Jupiter still in your sign! You can have opportunities for job advancement, meeting new friends or starting new activities. You can also begin a health and fitness routine that helps your body, mind and spirit! Meditation will be effortless and yield great insights. Either new or current partnerships will flow with qgood communication. With Mercury retrograde, just be cautious with impulse spending.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20) — Mercury retrogrades in your sign, providing you with deeper meditations and spiritual insights. The trick with the retrograde is not to push when things are stuck. Pause, look within, shift your approach and allow the flow of energy to re-open in a different way. Your dreams will also be very rich so pay extra attention to the images or messages. You can also have a financial breakthrough!

Gemini (May 21 – June 20) — Like your Taurus friends, this month’s Mercury retrograde enhances your intuition, meditations and dream world. You’ll also find you feel less revved up. Any type of grounding practices will help even more. Walking on the ground barefoot, salt baths, deep breathing, or mountain pose are great! Try having less sugar and caffeine, and more root veggies. Venus in your sign brings healing to current partnerships, or a new relationship if single. Plus you’ll feel self-love!

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

— This is an amazing work month! There’ll be rewards for what you’ve been striving for. A raise, promotion, new job or acknowledgement from superiors. You’ll also feel spiritually empowered in that realm of your life. No impostor syndrome for you! You can also re-connect with old friends or get re-involved with an uplifting hobby. Dare to visualize even higher levels of fulfillment in your life!

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22) — Focus on your spirituality this

month! Extra meditation, yoga or visualization opens your connection with your soul, yet also brings financial abundance and professional advancement. You’ll be tuned in to subtleties that help you be in the right place at the right time. An offer that seems great might not be, since Mercury is retrograde. Waiting until late May might be wiser!

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

— So many energies are at work this month to help you heal your heart and emerge with renewed trust in others! Long-held hurts can dissolve through forgiveness (while maintaining healthy boundaries). You can finally stop punishing yourself for imagined shortcomings. You’ll have more physical and emotional energy that’s been tied up in all that perfectionism! Try returning to an old meditation method or yoga class you loved but drifted away from.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22) —

Even more than your Virgo pals, this month is about healing your heart to make room for more intimacy! You can also start a fulfilling and sizzling relationship, or a current one will be rejuvenated! Traveling will be especially joyous. Even a day trip can revitalize your spirits in a deep way. You can also have financial breakthroughs on which you’ve previous given up! Be cautious of investments until late May, since Mercury is retrograde.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

— You can have so many breakthroughs with your health, both physically and emotionally. You’ll feel unburdened by toxins, not plagued by food cravings, and willing to take time to relax. Prioritize time with your partner. You might even reconnect with an old flame if single. Either way, make sure communication issues are cleared up and don’t automatically assume you understand each other.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec.

21) — As Mercury retrogrades, take an honest look at your schedule and how it can be impacting your health. Streamline and plan your day better so you have time for rest, meditation, ex-

ercise and heathy meals! You also want to feel energized to enjoy the positive relationship vibes that are going on for you! Even though planning and having balance seem boring when you’re a Sagittarius, you’ll actually have more free time and feel more vibrant to enjoy it!

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19) — You’re such a hard worker, but this Mercury retrograde wants you to make time for fun! How about a game night? Hobbies? Going to a play or movie? Playing sports? Goofing around with kids or pets? Tap into your creativity and see these activities as essential, not extra. You’ll feel happier, more vibrant, and can even be recognized at work since your mind will be refreshed and amazing ideas can pop up! Also send your body gratitude for all it’s hard world for you, no matter how it looks.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18) — You’ll be feeling happy and positive! Even if you’ve struggled with depression or negative thought habits, you’ll have a big breakthrough! Repeat the good thoughts over and over so they wire into your brain. Venus, the planet of

love, might bring a new romance. Or a current one will seem more compelling and sexy! Mercury retrograde asks you to re-commit to a sacred meditation or reflection space in your home. Choosing a specific time also enhances your inner connection with your spirit.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20) – Watch out for voicing negative ideas about yourself. Even eliminate self-deprecating humor. Show yourself the same kindness and compassion you reserve for others! Meditate on the spirituality of money. Imagine abundance and it will flow into your life! Clean up your home so your living space is beautiful and peaceful. Your home doesn’t have to be fancy, but clutter and mess impacts your nervous system.
