SUSTAINABILITY AT SOMERVILLE
A Royal Welcome Climate change, women’s rights and Oxford’s partnership with India were all on the agenda when His Royal Highness Prince Charles visited Somerville on 8th June. In glorious sunshine, Prince Charles discussed biodiversity in the gardens with Professor Fiona Stafford and Head Gardener Sophie Walwin; discovered Somerville’s history of campaigning for the rights of women at Oxford; learned about the work of the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development from its research scholars; and planted a tree to signify the launch of the College’s new sustainability plan.
