Chronicle DEAR/ SOLAR

READERS Welcome to the pre-edition of the Solar Chronicle Magazine. It's my privilege to introduce this magazine before launching print edition. For me it's wonderful experience to think about monthly addition which will be useful and comprehensive to the reader.

Startup with my career way back in 2011 as Solar researcher, it was my dream to stay updated and synchronize with the facts and information available in domain. I have read somewhere that Solar will be turn the globe around with new source of Energy and it will be the only future to save the earth. Gradually, collecting the information about the research, products and new startup in Solar Industry, increased my quest to collect and rationalize the information.

While my career has been on a steady rise, the solar industries have had ups and downs since beginning of my research as it depends on whether condition and more importantly on wind and sun lights. Despite uncertainty, or perhaps because of it, it's still an exciting time to be in renewables. No one can argue with the long-term viability of renewable energy. We know how this will end.

In this first issue you can read about the international news & facts. Likewise, great advances are being made in the solar industry. We can see the million homes adopted solar panels to replace the man-made ways of energy generation. Recent development in India, China, Middle East and Africa has changed the slop of solar product demand upward and therefore all four countries become the center point of news generator in this edition.

Highlighted section and graphical information like solar charts, comments and numeric figures will help you compare information with a glance. We welcome feedback—please feel free to share it.

We are really passionate about to take momentum forward.

MARTSPEND PROJECT AIMS FOR MORE AND BETTER DESIGNED PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR ENERGY TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH & INNOVATION

SMARTSPEND project partners met in Brussels to kick off this 3-yearproject. Running until December 2021, SMARTSPEND will explore how investments in R&D in clean energy can be made in a coordinated way and how they may be increased.

SMARTSPEND will organise a major conference to help innovators in clean energy access risk finance from public and private sources. They need money and connections to scale up.

SMARTSPEND's partners were chosen because of their links to companies and research centres in particular clean energy fields. This will allow the results of the project to be disseminated widely, including: analysis of industry funding needs; a map of funding instruments for energy innovation; recommendations for alternative models of sectoral organisation at EU level, and recommendations on supporting innovation in energy technology. In this context the 'Solar Facilities for the European Research Area Third Phase (SFERA-III)' Project, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (H2020-INFRAIA-2018-1), intends to engage all major European advanced solar laboratories, with relevant and recognized activities in the CST technology field, into an integrated structure that could successfully provide access to high-quality RIs and services to European and nonEuropean researchers from academy and industry to conduct first-class experimental research focusing on CST and CST-related activities but also other high temperature and high flux applications for research and industry, free of charge to Users.

Furthermore, SFERA-III integrates two research infrastructures located in two neighbouring countries, i.e.

Turkey and Switzerland, which complement the services offered by the European RIs.
