elanie Krakower is the Director of Development at BOLD New York, a full-service, tech-savvy Real Estate consulting and brokerage firm founded in 2010. At Bold she is tasked with leading the growth and buildout of the Firm’s development consulting business. Most recently her team launched leasing at Sky, located at 605 West 42nd Street, the single largest residential building in New York City to date. In addition to managing and advising on a number of projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn her team is establishing a comprehensive platform that will merge all aspects of the pre- and post-development processes into a centralized portal. This proprietary platform aims to facilitate a seamless project launch through successful absorption with an emphasis on transparency, flexibility and market trend tracking. While working in an advisory capacity Melanie enlists a bottoms-up approach leveraging BOLD’s culture of a strategically custom experience to meet the ever evolving needs of all clients. Prior to joining BOLD New York, Melanie was Vice President of Acquisitions and Project Management at DHA Capital, LLC an active New York City Developer. Leveraging her Capital Markets experience she closed over $130 million in real estate transactions and oversaw all aspects of market analysis, underwriting and project management at DHA. Through frequent site visits and working closely with A & E design consultants she acquired intimate knowledge of the importance of floorplan coordination and building constructability. In her current role she continues to employ this awareness while advising clients on the incremental value of thoughtful layouts, finish selections, and amenity programming. She strives to maintain a fluent understanding of zoning and building code intricacies in order to accurately and holistically advise clients. Melanie prides herself on building lasting relationships and connecting like-minded industry professionals. Ms. Krakower spent the first 5 years of her career at Lehman Brothers than Barclays Capital Investment Bank where she acquired extensive Capital Markets knowledge and practical corporate acumen. While on the Fixed Income Credit Trading COO Team she was tasked with balance sheet optimization exercises, cost of funds management, new product implementation, profitability analysis, Dodd-Frank initiatives and also spent six months seconded in London to build out the Credit Trading franchise there. Ms. Krakower, an active philanthropist and member of the Honors College, obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business in Gainesville, FL and graduated Cum Laude.
