Cape Town Prawn Festival 2016 Some might consider the pairing of prawns with galloping thoroughbreds to be strange, however, the Cape Town Prawn festival has cemented itself into a must-do event for the Summertime. If you're a horse racing enthusiast with a passion for seafood, then make your way to Kenilworth Racecourse on the 20 February 2016. Over the last couple years, The Cape Town Prawn Festival has formed part of 'Summer of Champion Series' - a highlight on any race-goer's social calendar. Spectators can tuck into platefuls of fresh prawns while placing bets on the outcome of the Grade Three Vasco Prix Du Cap and the Grade Three Chairman’s Cup.

Major giveaways happening throughout the day. Prawns priced at R149 per kilogram and are served with your choice of starch, either chips or rice. Accompany your seafood with a selection of sauces peri-peri, lemon butter or garlic butter. Apart from the racing and indulging, there will be live entertainment to add on to the festivities - ease into the racing spirit with music performances by local artists. The little ones can also partake in special activities to keep them entertained throughout the day.

Kiddies Entertainment includes face painting, colouring in, a story corner, magic shows and much more!

Why the Slow Festival? Sedgefield's Slow Festival is about returning to family values, real experiences and a natural way of life... After Sedgefield was declared Africa's first Cittaslow town and after a number of residents had been to Shaun van Eck's tourism update, they decided they needed to come up with an event to put Sedgefield onto the map.

The Sedgefield Slow Festival was born!
