Design of a sensory room

Inspired by the light reflective properties and shape of the Angel Aura Quartz stone, a small room rounding up about 4 square meters was designed. This sensory experience seeks to produce feelings of peace, happiness, and tranquility. Its shape and dichroic glass structure emulates the reflection of the aforementioned stone, allowing a connection between the user and its exterior surroundings, given its transparent nature.

The purpose was to create a building that could meet the operational standards for an initiative called Biciclando, a project that seeks to promote reuse and recycle culture in the city, by adapting a sort of "at your door" collection of recyclable materials by women of the neighborhood who need an extra source of income. This project consisted on remodelling what used to formerly work as a day- care. With said adaptation, the building was meant to have every facility needed by the women who work there to make their shifts go accordingly with their day to day routines.

Another goal set for the building was to enforce the sense of community in the neighborhood, which is why its central zone was made into an urban garden for people to interact with each other.
