Our story began more than 130 years ago in the tranquil pottery town of Adendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a traditional family business, we had long produced household products for preserving and pickling. In 1950, we finally began to produce the products that we now sell all over the world: high-quality ceramic plant pots in countless sizes and designs. Pottery has always stood for quality and tradition, creating products for eternity. An exciting journey with Soendgen Keramik - new shapes, unusual decorations and inspiring ideas for 2025! We have been on a journey through the world of ceramics since 1893, drawing inspiration from all over the world. Influences from Japan, Scandinavia or South America - no journey is too far.
With the novelty Nara, we present one of the season's highlights: The exciting relief - inspired by Japanese pottery - looks like the perfect symbiosis of elegance and naturalness thanks to the two color concepts "Sabi" and "Terra". The novelty Teramo also impresses with its variety and features three different, original clay tones whose colour scheme could not be more natural and aesthetic. Als Teil der Scheurich-Group haben wir uns ein Ziel gesetzt: Bis 2035 werden wir klimaneutral.
Dies bedeutet im Einzelnen:
1. Erhebliche Fortschritte entlang der Wertschöpfungskette (Recycling, Wiederverwertbarkeit)
2. Wir beabsichtigen, dass 100% unseres Stroms aus erneuerbaren Quellen bezogen oder selbst erzeugt wird
3. Der Einsatz von fossilen Brennstoffen wird stetig reduziert und durch CO2-freie Alternativen ersetzt (z.B. grüner Wasserstoff)
4. Erhöhung des Anteils an recycelten Materialien in unseren Produkten = Verringerung des Rohstoffverbrauchs

Ende 2021 haben wir eine weitere Produktionsstraße inkl.
Ofen in Betrieb genommen und produzieren mit dieser pro Jahr allein bis zu 4 Mio. Keramikübertöpfe, je nach Größe.
Dabei wird die Abwärme des Ofens wie bei allen unseren Produktionsstraßen zur Vorwärmung der Töpfe genutzt.
Dies ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil unseres Energiekonzepts.
Die erfolgreich durchgeführte energetische Sanierung unseres knapp 100 m langen Tunnelofens leistet seit 2021 einen wesentlichen, jährlichen Beitrag zur CO2-Reduzierung.
At the end of 2021, we installed another new production line including a kiln and produce up to 4 million ceramic pots in it per year, depending on the size. The residual heat from the kiln is used to preheat the pots, as is the case with all our production lines. This is an important part of our energy concept!
The successful energy refurbishment of our almost 100 m long tunnel kiln in 2021 has made a significant contribution to our CO2 reduction.

Stets auf der Suche nach alternativen Methoden, beweisen wir ebenso in vorgeschalteten Herstellungsprozessen, dass innovative Ideen umsetzbar sind. So konnten in der Gipsformfertigung teilweise Rohstoffbedarfe um bis zu 50% reduziert und somit nicht nur wertvolle Trocknungsenergie für die Umwelt, sondern auch jede Menge Handlingsgewicht für unsere Mitarbeitenden eingespart werden.
Always on the lookout for alternative methods, we also prove that innovative ideas can be implemented in the upstream manufacturing processes. In plaster mould production, for example, it has been possible to reduce raw material requirements by up to 50 % in some cases, thus saving not only valuable drying energy for the environment, but also a great deal of weight handling for our employees.
