Education

3WaterColors takes up the responsibility to encourage education. By educating young children and fulfilling their educational requirements such as providing them with school supplies, backpacks, tablets, laptops, school lunch fees, field trip fees, school activity fees, prom dresses, etc. In a broader aspect, they also provide training platforms to teachers, work on English Language skills in youth and children, as well as support student-focused programs (afterschool programs, robotics and sports).

Founder Sylvia Pradia is also available for speaking engagements to educate the public about signs of neglect and abuse, as well as interventions to safeguard both the children’s physical and emotional wellbeing. 3Watercolors organizes seminars and training sessions and provides informational materials such as pamphlets and brochures to help teachers and counselors recognize children who are either abused, neglected or underprivileged. Building from personal experience, Sylvia can not only relate to the pain and suffering of the abuse, but also testifies to hope that comes from receiving a helping hand. She speaks to audiences, including case workers, first responders, foster care agencies, school teachers and counselors, children and teens. Irrespective of race and nationality, 3WaterColors caters to children in Tarrant and Dallas Counties aged between 5-18 years.

HEALTH They focus o the nutritional and hygienic needs of the children by providing them with food, clothing, hygiene, and medical packs that includes—personal hygiene products such as hand sanitizer and face masks, vaccination costs, portable heaters, and fans. Moreover, the mental health of the children is also catered to by assisting them to attain emotional, social, and physical well-being. In short, they contribute towards creating a healthy and safe environment for children.

SAFETY In the United States alone, more than four children die from child abuse and neglect daily. Over 70% of these children are below the age of three. Boys (48.5%) and girls (51.2%) become victims at nearly the same rate. Almost 3 million cases of child abuse are reported every year in the United States—and this is just what gets reported. Many of these children never get found, and during COVID, these children were subject to being locked together with their abusers. 3WaterColors believes in creating a space for these children that is free from harm and danger. They do that by reaching out to people who are in direct contact with children and educating them to identify signs. Properly reaching out to these children helps to save many lives.

Summer Food Program

3WaterColors also provides food for underprivileged children and teens in low-income apartments from May to August. Every Friday, the apartment complexes submit a report of the type and quantity of food given and the clientele's demographics (age, gender, ethnicity). Any food that is not distributed is frozen for future use.

High School Mentoring

The mentoring program of 3WaterColors serves Fossil Ridge High School in the Keller ISD. In addition to providing kids food and personal items, they also mentor abused, neglected, underprivileged, and homeless teens 18 years and older. Mentoring is done during the school day from 8am-4pm twice per week, and this schedule may increase based on the need. The program is expanding to include grades 9-12 to serve students who qualify under the McKinney-Vento Act. Participation in the program does require parents of minors to sign a waiver. Student counselors and social workers may sign the waiver for mentoring if the parent refuses.

ON-CALL CRISIS PROGRAM

The on-call crisis program of 3WaterColors meets the urgent needs of children 5-18 years old who are neglected or abused. Referrals are made by the Police, social workers, foster homes, or doctors within Tarrant or Dallas Counties. They perform an intake with referring agency to determine the need to sustain the child through 30 days (food, hygiene, clothes, school supplies). Supplies are delivered to the agency who gives it to the child. 3Watercolors attempts to build a relationship when possible, and follow up with the referring agency after 30 days to see if further services are required. They also help teenagers prepare for a job interview by donating clothes and other items to boost their confidence.

GIVE One time and subscription donations will both impact the needs of children. If you are interested in partnering with Sylvia and her team at 3WaterColors or you want to raise funds for this important cause, please contact them today! Join the fight to change the lives of our children in need.
