The potential for victim blaming in social work We all like to believe that we take a non-judgemental and balanced approach to social work. After all, that’s what we’re trained to do. But what if we don’t realise that we’re not as fair as we thought we were? Social worker Mark Monaghan shares why a training conference opened his eyes to how easy it can be to inadvertently blame victims and how it has changed his approach to his work.
