KEN WRIGHT JEAN SHAFIROFF INTERVIEWS KEN WRIGHT, BOARD CHAIRMAN OF THE SOUTHAMPTON HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION By Jean Shafiroff en Wright, board chairman of the Southampton Hospital Association, talks to Jean Shafiroff, board member of the Southampton Hospital Association, about future building plans for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and the Annual Summer Party.
What are the plans for building a new Stony Brook Southampton Hospital? This summer we will officially begin our campaign to build a state-of-the-art new hospital. Our current hospital building was constructed before the invention of penicillin and while we have renovated and updated it to deliver first class care, we need to create a new facility designed specifically to deliver the medicine of the future and to meet all the ever-evolving needs of our community. As the only hospital on the South Fork, the hospital takes care of everyone who lives and visits this part of Long Island.
Ken, as our Southampton Hospital Association board chairman, can you tell our readers what’s going on at the hospital? Our focus is to finish construction of the East Hampton emergency department and open this much-needed new facility in 2024.
