On September 10th, friends, family, and colleagues gathered at the Embassy Suites, McAllen, for a farewell fiesta celebrating the retirement of McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez. Since 2014, Rodriguez has guided McAllen with a blend of integrity, dedication, and forwardthinking strategies that transformed the city into a hub of economic growth and innovation. His tenure saw the revitalization of public spaces, enhanced infrastructure, and the fostering of cross-border partnerships that strengthened McAllen’s role in the region. Known for his collaborative spirit, Rodriguez leaves a legacy of resilience and progress. McAllen bids farewell to a leader who truly shaped its future, setting a standard for city governance.
