10TH ANNUAL FILM FESTIVAL WAS FLAMIN' HOT.

The 10th Annual South Texas International Film Festival (STXIFF) was held from September 11 to 14, 2024, at the new Cultural Arts and Events Center in Edinburg, Texas. The competitive festival showcased an impressive array of films and celebrated cinematic achievements from local, national, and international filmmakers representing more than 22 countries.

The awards gala, emceed by actor Valente Rodriguez and director Brenda Patricia Garza, included a guest appearance from actor Emilio Rivera (Flamin’ Hot and Sons of Anarchy).

The festival’s selection process involves a team of industry professionals who screen each film in every category to identify the top contenders for awards. The awards included Best Actress (Alondra Gonzalez), Best Actor (Scot Johnson), Best South Texas Cinematography (UTRGV CHAPS – Ancient Landscapes of South Texas: Hiding in Plain Sight), and Best Director (Jarred Palomares).
