The PSJA Education Foundation recently held its 12th Annual Gala on October 3, 2024, at the Bert Ogden Arena. The fundraiser featured a performance by “Los Chicos del 512,” a Selena tribute band, and a silent and live auction where thousands were raised.

The PSJA Education Foundation is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for students and educators of the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD). This is made possible through the generous contributions from local businesses, alumni, and even district staff members who donate monthly through payroll deduction.

Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.5 million in scholarships and grants for PSJA ISD students and educators.

PSJA Education Foundation President Marlen Lopez expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support. “I am deeply moved by the incredible generosity of our community, the business owners, and organizations who come together each year to support our cause. This year’s gala was especially meaningful as we honored the memory of Jesus ‘Jesse’ Vela Jr., whose legacy inspires us to continue our mission.”
